    Insignificant yet highly effective :)

    Thanks voigts :thumb:

Thanks BrokenJaw, yeah I spent a long long time looking for the perfect combo :)

Thanks Stark.Jr, I have to admit there were the odd one or two parts that I wasn't sure how I was gonna make them lol :)

Yeah its slowly getting there :)

I've finally managed to get the hinge on and the door matching with the top panel, it was a bit more fiddly than I expect and I had to repaint the inside of the door twice as a caught the the paint while fitting the door :wallbash: however its finally done. Heres the pics with the top panel just resting on top as I can't properly fix it on just yet:

I've yet to glue on a thin strip of rubber where the hinge hits the case:

And here you can see the aluminium hinge with the plastic around its core:

I'll give it all a final clean up and remove excess paint e.t.c later on.

Now its time for the light strip which sits at the top of the inside of the case:

I first marked up a piece of 2mm alu:

I then began the long process of milling out all the parts while continually swapping the clamps around due to the rather thin areas:

    This will be continued tomorrow.

    Thanks Stem83 :thumb:

Yeah me too lol, I was amazed that the separate castings both shrunk so evenly as they cooled.

I love the grill passing through the middle with the blue lines on either side. The grill reminds me a bit of the core 1000.
    Really good!!

Thanks everyone :thumb:, glad to hear you all like it :)

I had to re-cut some alu for the inside light strip again as I made one of the slots 1mm to big :wallbash:.

So here's the new piece at the same stage as the old piece, I also used a knife to calve a groove into the alu instead of using a marker as the WD40 oil kept washing the marker off:

I then milled out the shapes:

Here's the result after a little filing of the edges:

I then put some double sided tape onto the alu:

    And stuck on some foil:

I then poured clear resin into the shapes:

    This is how :)

Here it is after the resin set and with the foil off:

I then sanded it down with wet & dry:

I then sprayed on fluorescent blue paint onto the back of the piece:

And heres how it looks on the side that will be visible, after I gave it a polish:

All that's left now is to fix it into the case and light it from behind with LED's.
