Being the proud owner of a HAF I can say that it is indeed monstrous. The only downside is that it's particularily unsightly and that the insides of mine aren't painted.

Someone got a case of compensation? :D

Just kidding, after getting used to the HAF (which is still stand by it's hideousness), I really wish I had gotten the sleek ATCS840 instead though.

Which part the compensation part? :D

As for the ATCS part, well I had enough cash, and it decided to go poof. :(

I still haven't gotten around to watercooling. Although the HAF932 has excellent cable routing. Not to mention it's inclusion of monstrously large fans actually makes it relatively quiet compared to say...an Antec 300.

From the Dust and the Black Widow Ultimate got 60 each and the Duke a 50. Which is pretty bad, but I'm sure they have given lower ratings (though I would say Duke was over-rated and the Widow under).

Remember, some things are subjective, so you can't necessarily downgrade points on style when everyone's sense of style is different. Some love the old P180, others claim it looks like a refrigerator.

And yes, there probably is some fear of being cut out. The advertising firm for Duke Nukem Forever threatened that, and was promptly fired by the creator for it. And while I'm not saying Bit-Tech is guilty of it, I have personally witnessed review being purchased.

There is a fine line they must walk, sometimes, you have to read between the lines.

Do case manufacturers put the succes of the HAF series of cases purely down to the way they look rather than their excellent performance and tremendous value for money? Thats the only reason I can think of for them all producing fugly as hell cases.

If an e-atx case existed that performed and cost exactly the same as my HAF 932, but looked 'stylish', existed when I was shopping around for a new case, the 932 wouldn't get a look in. But there wasn't so I had choose it.
