Case Mod - In Progress Project: AURORA [Updates: 7 - 07.08.2011]

Hi Bit-tech forum,

I'm glad to finally be a member of this community!

I started a new Case Mod called Project: AURORA. This is my third casemod and should look very fine and modern. This kind of style is very new to me, because in my other mods i used a lot of LEDs and acrylic glass.

The Plan:

• Make all in black with a bit of orange (cooling liquid, some cabels...)
  
• Sleeve the PSU with Black and Orange Sleeve
  
• Fit the watercooling and hardware in the case
  
• Fit the hardware and the big PSU into the really small case

The Case is arrived

Today the case from Fractal design arrived...

Beautiful case:




and immediately started to work...





The outcome of Today:
A PSU in orange felt

 

fuzzy wuzzy psu. its like a nerds teddy bear. lol

 

hehe

but i like how it reflect the light

 

with that color scheme, may don't even sleeve the cables...

 

Final Plans

Today i'm finished my plans



Now i can start modding

 

I know it early in the Mod but this looks like an interesting design, looking forward to see your progress as time goes on

 

After some problems the Powerswitch is working and looks pretty sweet...

Aurora was ~ 2 years ago
Aurora v2 is in my sig, planning a mod for it along the same theme
think_micro is another of my projects in black and orange

Also my Phobya case contest entry was named Aurora, and indeed was black and orange

 

I have very often used this coler scheme
i like the contrast between black and orange...

 

fan Mounting

Today I started with printing my plans for the fan mounting,
but i have many problems with the scale...


...and then I have startet working immediately.






At next i taped the edges that you can't see the wood grain and spray it with black color.





... i think this will be a long night
i want to make some felt on the top of the fan mounting

LIKING IT SO FAR.... oops caps. Fuzzy wickedness.

 

Fractal fan all the way here, and you cant go wrong with orange. Will be interesting to see how that fuzzy stuff turns out looking in the end.. thumbs up!
