It didn't run too bad on my E8600 @ 4.3Ghz / GTX 560ti combo; I'm going to wait until release to see if it's going to warrant a CPU / platform upgrade though.

I did pretty well with my Q6600, 5Gb ram and GTX 560ti (bought just for the alpha, getting returned soon)

    No Sandy Bridge tested?

Sure the test shows it'll certainly do well but still...

You guys know that just because the Alpha is over that doesn't mean the NDA is too

When EA says you can talk about it, that's when you can, not because the alpha ended. It's dumb but that's what you scrolled past and never read before you entered the game

the i5 beating the i7 has to be a hyperthreading issue. hopefully they'll sort it out, otherwise i'll probably just turn it off. promising numbers though, i was hitting between 30-65 at 1920x1200 which was fine, wouldn't mind a few extra frames at the bottom end so will see if OCing is needed when the beta hits.

pretty sure there's something wrong with ethics of that statement in brackets. :nono:

what i found interesting is that PIIx6 gets far more than PIIx4, which means it will use more than 4 cores. but i7 didn't benefit from having more threads. :( so you are right, must be a hyperthreading issue.

Just so you know, talking about how it runs isn't permitted due to the NDA as well

I probably shouldn't have posted that image link, it could be all a load of bollocks!

If you are going to buy BF3, don't make any hardware changes until the game is released or you could be wasting your money.

Again, there is the MoH access BETA coming in a few weeks.

There is also the PUBLIC BETA in September. Nobody should jump the gun and spend money before they actually try some kind of release candidate.

    same, i think BF3 ruined my BFBC2.

tried to play BFBC2, kept getting neg-KDR when i am usually top of the team with very good KDR. found kept getting killed while the other guy survive with ~10 health left. :(

still got AT4 magic though :D

Can I take that to mean that they have finally fixed the damned hit box inconsistencies?

im not sure, BF3 guns have massive visual recoil. but it certainly felt easier to hit the target than BFBC2.

speaking of AT4, i sure hope it's still in BF3. my fav weapon for taking down choppers :D

    +1

The game is running really well on my Q6600 + 512mb 9800gt. The alpha ran better than bad company 2 did at comparable settings.

Framte rate didn't drop below 35 fps and that was only in the most intense of firefights.

The game shouldnt be that reliant on CPU should it?

My i3-2100 beats alot of the amd quad cores with ease, so i don't see how it scored so low, I bought it thinking a good gpu would be fine.
