News Serious Sam 3: BFE release date announced

I'm not seeing any Serious Sams in the specials section of steam, and BFE is still "summer 2011" release with no price listed on it. :/

 

Fork Parker is my new hero. And what a name.

And the problem with that is?

The MINIMUM spec is:

CPU: Dual-core from Intel or AMD at 2.0 GHz
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7800/7900/8600 series
OS: Windows XP 32-bit(with service pack 2 or 3)
Memory: 1GB/4GB free hard drive space
Sound Card: DirectX9.0c Compatible Sound Card

I think your understanding of "recommended" might need adjusting. If I had just made this game, and I'd given it shiny new graphics and lots of explosions etc etc, I'd recommend that people play it on a kick-ass machine to get the best from it.

It doesn't mean you have to have it. It means that's what they recommend to get the experience they want to.

I'd recommend only going into a casino when you've got a ton of cash to spend....you can still go in with just £20....you just won' t have as much fun. Same deal.

 

It's a beast of an engine. I was running on an ATI 6970 at 2560x1600 and my system crawled until I dropped to a lower res and texture settings with the preview code.

We expect to be benchmarking with this for a long while.

 

..sigh, its like being back in 2001-2005, when you needed to upgrade every 6mths, now that the dev's are bored with the 'so last gen' consoles..

..wait a minute...happy days are here again.

 

my understanding of recommended is anything that is needed to play all max at 1080p smoothly.


because i have 2560x1440 screen, i was hoping games would only recommend 560 Ti or similar so i could max this game out at my resolution. wasn't expecting a 580 is required for 1080p.

we'll see how the final build turns out. nice to see a game using fastest GPU's power though. (in Joe's case, AMD's)

 

TBH just looking at the screenshots the requirements don't surprise me, queue "This game in unoptimised! Bad coding!"

Crysis all over again?

 

I'm amazed you had access to the Crysis and Serious Sam 3 code to determine it isn't well written.

 

I won't spend a penny untill I see if parker's wife is worth a tit job!

Ahh they remind me of GSC Gameworld. Absolutely great indie company that makes games that are worth playing and absolutely gorgeous.

 

Random bit of pointless information for you all, the guy that coded the entire of Postal 2 worked on this game.

 

One thing with Croteam when the did SS , then SS SE ect ect they have "ALL WAYS" done updates, the Serious Sam community "Seriously" are all ways modding the game and Croteam work close with them as well.

So before going slagging off coding, i think you should do some research because Croteam are one of the better and more fun developers.

WANT! Loved the other games. Co-Op was achingly hilarious too!

 

What happened to peoples sense of humour? I wasn't even slagging the game off and was merely referring to all the comments that people blurted out when Crysis was first released because of how their computers were unable to play the game.

Does everyone suddenly suffer from short term memory loss? Bloody hell! You'll have to forgive me for expecting lots of people to be moaning about their computers not maxing the game out and blaming the developers for that reason.
