Had to look at his post for the thousandth time to see why you said that I was mostly gawping at the photos & just thinking woooooow .
Clicking on any thread that says "by: Attila" on these forums has never let me down. This is no exception. Pure art using the PC as a medium.
Thanks mate. I look at a lot of cars. Thanks Jeff. Haha, thanks Wayne. Thank you Marcos. Thanks ziip. Thanks. Thanks and welcome to bit-tech. Oh, and get those panties changed. Indeed I am getting plenty of use from a very cheap tap and die set. The image below is from the CX1 project log and I've been using the same set all along. Purchased from 'super cheap autos' for $29.99 aussie dollars. Though I must say that I have only ever used the M3 and M4 taps. The rest of the set has been unused. Thanks muchly Angel. Thanks m8. Thanks mann. Thank you. Thanks. I cant tell you 'how much' alu this will use but I can tell you that most of the material is left over from Na'ir al Saif. So taking this project in isolation, I spent $70.00 on copper (which wont be used) and $20.00 for a bunch (10 kilos) of really thick alu (I got very lucky there ). I'm using tools and screws that I've purchased long ago, so this hasn't set me back much at all. Thanks Craig. I did look at a lot of car front ends and this idea is just a blend of what I could use in the confines of the space and of coarse the shape. The tall, narrow space I have to work in means a lot of the really nice car grille/intakes were ruled out. Thank you. Thanks skullen. Thank you. Thanks jokkos. Thanks. Thanks Zorndar.
LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT CHUNK OF METAL I see a piece of aluminum like that and I want to grab it and run around the room squealing like a little kid on too much sugar and caffeine. There's soooo much you can do with that metal. *envy*
..... lot of alu! and for 20$!! kind of criminal.. '-_- (was the 20$ to buy a ridgid crowbar so you could break in to the metal dealer?) anyway LOVE the fantastic work!!
Your last work was my most favourite build ever for sure. It's starting to look this will be my new personal best build ever.......
Haha, well I didn't do anything illegal to get that stuff. I went to the alu shop on a Saturday morning and asked if I could get some thicker stuff out of the offcuts bin. It turned out that the money made from sales of alu in the bin goes to the employees Christmas party fund. It couldn't go through the register and I had to pay cash and only had a twenty and a fifty on me. He settled for the twenty. Thank you, I'm glad you like Na'ir. I love looking over at it while I'm doing PC stuff, it's my favourite also. I think it will be my main rig for a long time. Thanks muchly b4oz.
Sounds like a pretty fair man to me ! Dayum, you never cease to amaze me. Amazing works as always. I wish I could design like that.
hi long time lurker, first time poster, I just had to say Attila your work is amaising, the first thing I do is check your updates, I find the Cygnus X1 the best case I have ever seen in my life, and this case looks like it might take the crown. BTW I would love to know about the initial design of the Arrakis case, also BTW I love the name, as can be seen from my nick (its a Serbian pronaciation) of the Dune planet (Herbert Rulles) and I've been using it for 10 years now.
