Today I fabricated some mountingpieces for the RJ45, Audio and Mic connectors. There is still some soldering to do obviously, but I think you get the idea. Since I don't have any pcb to fasten the connectors to I need to fabricate some sort of fastening. The plan with this one is that it will house the RJ45 while pushing the audio,mic connectors tight against the I/Opanel plate. Therefore I Will only need one screw at max to hold all three connectors, and hopefully they will stay in place. Wohoo.. looks kind of messy. That piece to the right will be the "lock" of the whole thing. The connectors are pushed in place. I deliberatly made the groves for the 3,5mm connectors sligtly smaller to achieve a snugg fit. I wasn't shure how well this would work but it turn out way better than expected. The slight softness of the plastic allows for a realy tight fit, even the RJ45 connector snapped right into place with a click. Yay The small pocket behind the 3,5mm connectors are to add a little bit of distance to the 3,5mm pluggs incase they would happen to be inserted too long. Here you can see the "lock" in its upper position. Tecnically it doesnt lock anything but the plan is to hav it pushed down to fill out the gap. There is a hole in the "lock" that is not perfectly aligned with a threaded hole in the connector part. This missalignment of the holes will try to push the pieces apart when a screw is inserted. That will hopefully make the whole piece wedge itself to the walls and not fall out. Atleast thats the theory. I might have to countersunk the hole to make it work. Turns out this fit was really tight aswell and the whole piece is wedged pretty good only by pushing the lock piece down. I might not even need the screw.

Thanks for your constant support Waynio. I still have a lot to learn when it comes to milling but I learn something new for every piece. Yeah, push fittings are really nice..
I can only say the same about you, master of cnc. Thank you Thanks, yeah they are pretty small and for the last milling operation I had almost no good clamping surface left to secure the part to. I was pretty shure the whole piece would get loose and ripped apart by the cuttingforces but thankfully it survived.
