Manliest car is still a pink Nissan Micra. If you can drive around in that and still be called a man, you have bigger brass balls than Winston Churchill and The Rock combined.

Oh well.. it was fun while it lasted :)

95% of the time, I DO drive a Nissan Micra.. although not pink, so I have redeemed some man points. Yay!

    Ouch!
Still.. decent first car, and you're on the road. It will get cheaper as time goes by. Drive safely.

Insurance renewal for this year; £743. Almost exactly half what I paid last year.

My wife and I share a Clio - best car we have ever owned, if a little on the small side. And since everybody is mentioning insurance, ours is £425 fully comp for both of us. :thumb:

Here it is in winter 2010 :D :D

Jeep... there is a secondary coating of some kind of paint that covers the "Jeep" logo that makes the 'e's look like o... so i like to call it the Joop.

Yeah, but... Didn't it always give you trouble? Dad used to work on a lot of Fiat Coupé's when he was doing private work...

Chimmy - I love the truck mate, what year is it?

I will get a picture up shortly but I have recently taken delivery of my new car.

It is an Audi A1 1.4 TFSI 185 S Line S-Tronic (yes that is the full name). It is in phantom black and has the full black styling pack (plus Xenons and other options).

Given the way it looks I have nick-named it "Vader" after Darth Vader's helmet.

185BHP in a car the size of a shoe is certainly grin enducing, especially as the S-Tronic (DSG in VW terms) allows for perfect shifts every time. Being completely de-badged at the back also leads to plenty of fun watching middle managers in their 320d's / A4 2.0TDI 170's desperately trying to keep up. :D

    A couple of "stats":

    0-62mph ~ 6.6 seconds (launching)
0-100mph (private road of course) ~ 16.5 seconds
    Top Speed - 141mph (claimed)
    Combined mpg of 46.7
CO2 of 139g/km making it £110 a year to tax

Insurance is actually LESS than our old A1 1.4TFSI 122BHP S Line S Tronic (I upgraded).

As I say pictures will be uploaded shortly.

I am super pleased with the car. It is still being "run in" so I am looking forward to the engine coming alive once it has loosened up.

Furture plans are a stage 1/2 remap taking her to roughly 220BHP, and getting the wheels re-done in the Audi "Black Edition" style - something which should really be standard on the "Black styling pack".

Well...not as much as you'd expect I guess.
Considering it ran nearly 300K km in fourteen years on bad roads and through winter salt (which we get a lot here in the low mountains) AND it's a FIAT it wasn't too bad. ;)

Most problem people had with them is not warming up the turbo before pushing it, resulting in worn out turbos. And of course not changing the timingbelt on time (as it's expensive to change), and then complaining when it snapped and their engine was toast. :D

If you treat it like a sportscar and USE the 220 horsepower, the tyres and brakes wear fast (duh) :duh:
If you treat it like a Grand Tourismo it doesn't wear that bad. I got 60-80K km out of a set of tyres.

The new one is a Alfa 159 estate diesel.
150hp, four years old, the works in it (full leather, Xenon etc.) I've yet got to test if the babybuggy goes into the back though :D

Nice car, but I just couldn't spend that much money on such a small car (even a fast one). Hope you enjoy it though!
