Some superb innovation and modding going on (back-plugged mobo connectors? Genius!). With the white SMD LED, is the metal panel it is mounted in acting as heatsink, or don't they generate that much heat?

    :hehe: Agreed :D

The cable work on this looks like a circuit board, huge attention to detail :thumb: must have taken some time to get it like that :D.

Been away for a while so will have to re read the log soon but going on the last few updates it looks to be a great read :D
Loving all your innovative ideas from the casting to gluing the wires to the cross flow fan modding... just pure genius!

    Thanks jokkos :thumb:

Thanks Nexxo :) , nope there's no noticeable heat coming off it and the resistor is on the case itself separate from the side panel.

Lol, yeah I always get like that with all the wires under my desk, I usually just end up shaking the wires till they come loose.

Thanks Waynio, yeah it took many hours.

Cheers Editor :thumb:, gad to hear I'm creating a good read :)

And for all those who wanted to see the milling video here's the first stage, my 8GB memory card ran out of space near the end so I didn't manage to get all the first stage but most of its there:

And here's the result, I will tidy up the edges when I do the final pass:

Aligning cables is easy. You just wave a cross at them and say: "The power of Christ compels you! The POWAH of CHRIIIAST COMPELS YOUUU!!!"

Or was that exorcising an demonic entity? I always mix the two up.

    Same thing really

Very nice video, I wish I had a CNC mill, even just a regular mill would be cool. Have you thought of putting in a fluid cooling system?

    Thanks L1U

    Lol :D

I do actually have one but the coolant isn't clear and it stops me from being able so see the part I'm trying to mill, and I'm unsure whether you can buy clear coolant as it needs to cool and lubricate which involves some sort of oil. Some WD40 seems to do the trick though, barely any heat builds up, except with the small cutters so I have to mill slowly with them.

I have to say, that looks fantastic...
Also, I think that's the only video someone's posted on here that I've actually watched start to finish...
