i vote for a fresh map for 1.8 with a teleport between the old and new maps with no items shared between the two for a truly fresh start. trees can be replanted.

 

As far as I know thats whats planned for the Survival at least

It won't be 100% stable when it's up anyway. The updates to Bukkit and it's plugins might cause some interesting glitches.

Also; The plugins themselves haven't yet been updated. I don't know about you guys; but I'd rather play on the Survival Server with Big-Brother running, especially with Endermen and Creepers capable of ruining everything.

 

I take it minecraft.net was playing silly buggers last night as I couldn't get connected when trying to log in so had to play offline

I gave this a try but I was getting random crashes for no apparent reason?

On another note - I have never been able to use the minecraft.exe file to launch it, I have always had to use a .bat file to call the jar file with some parameters. Whenever I try to use the minecraft.exe it just gives a beep and nothing happens??

 

Redownload the executable, I had the same problem and that fixed it for me.

 

So do the levels have any effect yet?

God I love the new oceans. Around a square mile big and 20 m deep... yes please! Finaly I can build something big underwater.
The mountains are kind of extreme though, there's only extremely tall or extremely flat, no hilly areas around the 70 to 80 mark any more.

I updated the bukkit and it seems to run alright.

OK, the server has just died.

 

i think i read somewhere that levels wont do anything untill 1.9

the oceans can be huge: there was a guy o reddit who generated a huge map and the ocean whent on for ages without finding land on the othere side. can't seem to find it though.

/multiworld goto world <-- goes to old world
/multiworld goto world18 <--- goes to new 1.8 world

 

Can someone pm me the IP for the survival server please, or is it just the normal one and you use that multiworld command?

im not sure what server you have the ip to so i will take a guess.

the creative bit-tech server hosted by MPUK, it usualy takes them a long time to update the server when a new patch comes out. it is a completly diffrent server to the servival server hosted by one of the members of the forum (might have moved to profesional hosting but not sure).

so in short the server isnt down it is probably just out of date so you cant access it with a 1.8 client.
