Don't get too excited, it's just a precaution. Storage requirements are often inflated to compensate for additional space required for patches and future content. God forbid the requirements say, for example, 15GB and the game actually requires 16GB thus potentially making users with only 15GB of free space unable to play despite meeting the requirements.

Sounds like my PC will handle the game decent-ish on somewhat high settings.

 

You should be fine with the 460, they are over spec-ing at 560 1gb, likely for big gaming screens running max settings wanting smooth game play..a 1gb 460 will be more than enough.

 

Slightly off topic

Don't I know it - I have an eyefinity setup & it (Witcher 2) will only open with either black bars above and below on the middle fo three screens ffs or with black bars on the side screen but unable to view/play because you can't shift the HUDs. There was a work around but the developers (seemigly deliberately) broke this with an "update". I will NOT be buying another witcher game until they sort out this glaring problem. And i'm not the only one... just check the witcher forums!

 

Yeah and RAGE is 25GB - they say that's mainly due to the megatextures they're using. I'd imagine Batman Arkham City with its huge 40 hour campaign, will be a another enormous install too. Luckily 1TB HDDs are pretty cheap these days tho..

Surely you mean GTX 560 or HD 6850? (not same performance but same market bracket)

 

Anyone have any thoughts on how it will run on a E8400 @ 4ghz? Getting a new gpu (6970 2gb memory), but trying to hold off upgrading the chipset for now...

 

Yea Tyr, I said the same thing on the last page. I cant see anyway that a 560 is supposed to the minimum equivalent of a 6950. Even if say the game seems to be running better on the 560 than its equivalent 6850/70, id not imagine it would be more than 2 or 3 fps at best, Nvidia must be paying them off to claim a 6950 is needed, damn that TWIMTBP.

Makes me kinda regret opting for the 6870 over the 560 GTX. Oh well, both are just the smallest bit better than my 4650 lol.

 

the engine is heavily multithreaded, you'd do well to stick a Q6600in there.
