They are both just raw shots, reduced in resolution in Photoshop :thumb:

@ Greg, both are nice captures - Nikon's full frame bodies are remarkably clean at high ISOs. My only complaint is that the WB is off in the second one and there's a bit of an "oompa loompa" effect going on there :)

My monitors haven't properly warmed up yet but I tried to cool the image down a little and brighten it up. There's only so much you can do with a jpeg, but I do really like this shot.

And while I'm here, I may as well share this - this is from my "business" desktop background for when clients come for consultation lol (eg. today)

    Thanks for the tip Lenny, I had another go at it, big improvement on the original i think. Skin tones may be a bit too warm for some but I like it;

Is that a apple keyboard connected to a windows desktop? Don't think I've seen anyone do that.

Yeah, I love my Apple keyboard! It's the nicest keyboard for typing IMO, it's inexpensive, and it gives my desk a sleek corporate look :D

Oh my So many great photos & discussion!
I really liked the tree photos by Mankz
Also the lady laughing with the blossoms is a beautiful capture!

As for you Lenny, I'm just angry & jealous at your clean & professional desk & desktop.

I've lived here now for 8 years and I'm still not used to it...
Just last week I'm filling out and application and thinking: wait I know it's supposed to be opposite of common sense.... wait so it's not day>month>year... it's a OH ITS Month>Day>Year OK.
Makes sense for filing cabinets the US format...

@GregTheRotter: the kid is beautiful, but the direct stare at the camera is what a bit scary. The lack of a childish expression makes him seem to be super smart or up to something... the thing they do with kids in scary movies or games with little kids starting at you with no smiles. That's all. The stare really does seem like he's looking through the screen straight into my soul :D The photo is intense.

Oh and the photo with the horse was shot with a 7D and a 10-22 wide lens

Shot four looks on Saturday, unfortunately I've only had time to process this one photo so far - so more to come.

Lol, I personally don't mind it. For another shot in a different set she asked me if I wanted her to take them out (I said whatever she wanted, so she left them in).

Oh how I've missed this thread...

Thanks man. I had a blast in the city, didn't actually take as many photos as I thought I would - I was just enjoying myself way too much.

I did catch a sunset at the Rock and it was stunning. Worth the entire trip.

I dunno if I like the Air or the shot more :p
Aw man, I miss San Francisco. Love this one, and the misty Marin Headlands are nice too.

I just got one too! I find it bounces around a little too much as I walk but it's a fair compromise between the grab-and-shoot of hanging a camera off your neck and the stable carriage of slinging it across your body.

Pick up a BRAD strap for it ('cos, y'know, the strap goes in your pit.) The packaging talks about the RS-7 but it works just fine with the RS-5. Stops the strap lifting off your shoulder when shooting or just running from the Feds.
