Out of interest, looking at that fan controller, the front fascia is held on my Allen-headed bolts, why couldn't you have taken it off, sanded and primed the fascia? Just wondering, it would have looked a bit better in my opinion, it just looks a bit rough and ready.

It was already brushed aluminum, so I had to only roughen it up enough for the paint to adhere.

But you got those nice acrylic green edges smothered in paint, if you took the front off you wouldn't have!

But they're also on the inside case edge. Out-of-site

Actually, AMD's logo color is green. That's why I'll be backlighting it in green and using green cathodes inside. Maybe even green coolant.... ;)

if you're brave enough to paint the switches go for it my only concern would be that they would get stuck, dont know the best way to attack it :)

i think the 8 should be blocked rather than rounded.

So am I. It's getting to the point though where drives are so fast you really can't tell 200MBps from 900MBps

Here's the parts list thus far:

    Gigabyte 990FXA-UD5
    AMD FX-8150
    16GB Crucial Ballistix
    Radeon 6950
    1TB Revo Hybrid
    850 Watt Enermax 80 Platinum

    Not sure about cooling yet

@Shrop - You are talking to the king of speed-modding there. :D
I think painting the switches wouldn't work. However, hitting the hardware store for some black rubber boots to fit over them would be good. It would make them black and bulky.
Bulldozers have shiny bits too -in the hydraulics pistons.

Apparently AMD wasn't sure how serious I was about this project and if I had even started yet. So I sent them some pics of my current status. Just got word back this morning that they will be sending me their top processor, the FX-8150!
