Windows F1 2011 (Windows/360/PS3)

4 Races in, 3 of them have been in Heavy Rain, Turkey was in heavy rain until I crashed out. I'm too crap in rain to play! So I get bored and crash. Got 6 points with Force India though so far.

 

seem to recall with 2010 physical copies were only fulfilled for pre-orders then it was digital only. So they could be in constraint.

 

5 Races in, 4 races in heavy rain. Codemasters know how to spoil a game.

 

Ouch Pieface. I've had 1 Full wet race weekend, and one wet Practice, all others have been dry.

Will do some screen shots later. Anyone fancy F1 2011 at 2560*1600? heh

Haha, very unlucky. I did Turkey a little while ago, Dry, have Spain as my next race, A circuit to which i hate with a passion.

Also, anyone know how to do screenshots in game? The usual Prt Scr or Alt Prt Scr technique doesn't work, and i end up with a black screen when i paste it in Paint.

Think you are stuck with steam or fraps.

 

Can you play in Windowed mode? You should be able to get screenshots that way.

 

I find Spain an easy track, in the dry. The track I just cannot do is Melbourne. I don't know why but I just fail at that track, especially Sector 3.

EDIT: Been enjoying it, but my HDMI output on my TV is broken, so everything is discoloured with a tint of Red. :/

 

Is it worth getting this? Is it much better than last years game?

 

Anyone using G27/G25 with this game - if so what settings are you using?

Also does anyone else have the stuttering issue that seems to be present in all codemaster racing games, to do with writing the replay file, as surely they should have sorted it by now...

 

I'm not using Steam, standard stand alone game.

Yeah, Much better, You need a bit more skill than last, but i am blasting through on Easy atm, so will crank up the difficulty later on.

The game is as smooth as anything, no lag of any sorts experienced.

Regarding the G25, yes, i do use it, love it, but i have no idea what settings are at, i'm hoping they fix the issue so i don't have to continue switching from keyboard to wheel every time i start the game.

A Patch has been released to PC, PS3 and xbox 360. What it sorts out i don't know.

How to download:
PC-GFWL, Start game as usual and wait for GFWL to kick in, should automatically prompt you to download.
PC-Steam, Do i need to explain?

A standalone patch is being worked on as well.

xbox 360/PS3, Start game, and it should prompt you to download the patch.

If you've been watching the Codemasters F1 Facebook page, you will have seen the stupidity from some people, including those asking how to download a patch for the 360, so the above is a just in case for those who stumble upon it after searching Google and the like.

Absolutely loving this game on my new rig. Got my PS3 controller hooked up working fine. Just won my rookie season, although it is a little easy on medium settings, but hard.. is well.. so hard!

KERS and DRS are great gameplay additions, I haven't hardly played anything else but this game since it came out!

 

Anyone find that patch made the handling way easier? I'm finding i am no longer fighting to keep the back end in line.

 

I don't know about that. I only loaded the game yesterday and did practice & qualifying (short weekend) at Australia last night but from my (very) limited experience, the Williams doesn't like having the DRS open on anything except straight straights. Even a slight curve and the tail wants to wag the dog.

I'm playing medium setting and at best I was 3 seconds behind everyone else. Not good.

OTOH I'm loving the game. DRS + KERS = fun.

 

Then I'm afraid you're stuck with getting FRAPS, or importing the game as a non-steam game (as screens and overlay will work with them.

 

Mclaren have offered me a drive for next season, I'm going to switch to Hard mode and no racing line etc, see how it goes..
