News 93,000 Sony accounts accessed by hackers

It was Sony's "crappy security" that stopped the account theft, it was the users "crappy security" that made this possible.

 

To be fair, Sony should make people use letters and numbers like many places are doing now.

 

I doubt that the world will end on 12/12/2012 but I pray that Sony sees an end to its own little insecure world by then.

 

If they have my information, I'll laugh. There's literally no link to anything important for me.

 

Just had an email from PSN saying my account was one of the 93,000 that got hacked.

Suppose it serves me right for being too lazy to change my password after the last time PSN got hacked?

 

Sony hacked again lol and after a email I got yesterday from Microsoft it would appear that the Microsoft servers have been as well.

Gamertag that has not been used for over 2 year's, has tried to buy Xbox Live Point's but the card on the account was cancelled ages ago and when I spoke to Microsoft they laughed and said it was my fault that someone got my account detail's of there server.

Watchdog for Microsoft and Sony again soon I think rofl!!

 

But if they're asking people to choose unique, hard-to-guess passwords, that suggests that people are just using dictionary attacks.

If that's the case, it isn't Sony's fault, and I think they're being very generous by not saying so. If you choose to associate a credit card with the password "lollipop", you are an idiot.

And yes, by saying that, I'm calling a lot of people idiots, sadly.

Ok, Sony's site wasn't hacked, but surely Sony should be making sure those other sites have adequate security in place, especially if they are used for storing user names and passwords....?

 

I thought I was reading the Daily Mirror for a moment there. Can wait for the diagrams.
