update 12 - mobo tray (part 2) (list of all updates)

hi guys, this is a big one! Today i'll be installing the system tray, the fornt tray and the HDD enclosures, anong with all holes for cables and stuff! :D

let's start with some holes, this is the one behind the power button

then I started working on the mobo tray, drilling some guide holes, tapping some holes and that king of stuff.

I'll be adding a detailed view of the holes down here, now some self-explaining images of the work I've done

these are the different systems used for screws and standoffs to have everyting working as expected

    front 2
    [IMG]

    rear
    [IMG]

with that big chunk of work done, I started working to the front tray.

re-drilling some holes and removing the protective film

    installing grill and fan

I bought a pair of HIMURO's with my own founds, these are intended primary for sound-dampening because I read in many reviews that the heat dispersion is not really outstanding with those... so it's not the point ;)

    the HIMURO's

then I just remounted everything together, the side panels and the back panel, the HIMURO's etc...

    this is the result

    and obviously...

    ...the mess is behind :hehe:

that's it with that big update! I hope you enjoyed it! :D

    well well...

guys, I realize it has been incredibly long since the last update and I really apologize to all of those among you that are following the build :sigh:

sooooo.... just to let you know I'm still working hard to have that project done, I've prepared a little update video teaser in an absolute no-logical order about the upcoming updates! :D

    I hope you like it!

hi guys, there will be more stuff coming soon so I decided to put some order in the thread before that moment...

I added a list of all the updates in the first post and a link to that list in all of the update posts, so it will be more easy for you to follow the history of the project even without the "View Author's Posts" tool.

If you have any other suggestion about the project or about making the thread more user-friendly I'll be glad to hear :thumb:

Looks pretty nice!!! how will you take for the side of the case? Aluminium?

other stuff, why do you still use a floppy drive? Now, you can boot on esb key?

    thank you! :D

the side will be transparent perspex and wood, and I have an idea for lightening the perspex itself with a couple of neons

:idea::idea::idea: i'll let you guys know if that works

the floppy drive was just a test for the size of the rheobus and usb hub:
