Ok Which one to go for? at the moment I've got one of LG's IPS panel's, and its very lovely, a reasonable degree better than my old TN panelled Samsung P250H, but now I have a full time job I'm a desperately wanting to spend money to make my gaming expiernce that little bit more enjoyable, also more real-estate to work with when just generally using the computer would also be good, so what should I do?

Option 1: get two more LG IPS monitors for total of 3 screens, or

Option 2: Get a Dell U2711, or I could go completely mad and get a U3011?

So what would you pick? As I haven't the foggiest what to do D: Nice dilemma to have though I suppose.

I'd say go full on 2560 x 1600 if you can. I personally like 1920 x 1200 but if you enjoy larger resolutions you might as well go as big as you can with the U3011 :).

I don't think you can game on dual monitors, so the largest possible resolution on a single monitor or three 24 inch screens would be best.

My friend, look at the rest of your spec. Does it say 'sane' or 'normal' to you? No, it says crazy OTT, so really you need 3 x 30" to do it justice...

Get the U2711, unless you need the added vertical res of the 30inch beast. Triple monitor gaming is good but not all games support it well enough.

The once you've bought that, give your old LG to bdigital for free :D Then everyone's happy...ish lol

haha, you are so right my friend, maybe 3 x 30" is the only answer, I think I might be needing a bigger desk :p

and bobby, if I decide to get either the U2711 or U3011, then you can by all means have the LG panel

Ah, I missed your computer specs in your sig. Bloody_Pete has a very good point. 3 x 30 inchers would be the minimum you should be aiming for :).

I'm not entirely convinced of multi-monitor gaming tbh, not without bezelless (sp?) displays, so I'd go for a single high-resolution screen.

And ofc, it's gotta be the 30"

Can't vote though, too new :(.

i was like that last year..... 4-bay NAS, best router around, monitor, gtx580, 16GB RAM, and iPad 2.

but have now realised earning money != unlimited money for monthly upgrades.

    so get U2711. :thumb:

Go for the U3011; if you get U2711 you'll love but regret it like me. Knowing it's great but always wishing you'd just got the extra 3"!
