Yeah the vids are a bit of a pain but just have to put up with them. I have not come across your reset problem tho are you sure you are saving your settings properly?
Just got my copy yesterday. Added a few of you. So far I've had three crashes. Two just in the last 3 minutes. I've got one issue where it can get stuck on a loading screen for a race, alt+tab out and then back in and it'll load into the race. The AI is monumentally awful. That eliminator with the vipers, my god I was ready to throw the steering wheel out the window. Something also feels wrong with the collision response, a slight tap shouldn't result in the car spinning out of control. And also, why do the AI think they are police cars, when they hit you, they maintain contact, causing you to not be able to do anything. Apart from that, its a good game. Graphics are good, tuning options are good, although a little more meaning to the settings would be good, like actually telling you what camber or toe your running rather than just a number between 0 and something, where the middle is really zero. Worth it just for the mk1 escort, the capri and the mini. Although the escort does not sound anything like a crossflow. The other sounds seem mostly good though. Shame there doesn't seem to be many races where you can actually use these classics though, I thought I'd be able to use them in retro, but oh no. And why oh why do they always list Ford as American. The mk1 escort was not an american car, and I'm pretty sure you can't even buy a Focus ST or RS in America. They should split it up into Ford America and Ford UK. Oh and don't get me started on drifting. What a complete shambles. I sort of managed to get the hang of it in Shift 1 (I think), but it feels totally different now.
I don't usually hit them, they usually hit me. I think they took the AI from Hot Pursuit and forgot to change it to racing as opposed to police maneuvers.
Does anyone know how to drift with the DFGT? Tried it first time with default settings with a Nissan 300ZX I think (or whatever car it gave first for drifting). Too twitchy. Had to exit cockpit mode just to get the drifting to work. I know Rx-7 and RX8 in NFSU drifted a lot better.
Add me up ladies - Purespeed94, really don't know how I compare as I have no friends look forward to a few races though! Steam - wem76
This is already the best looking driving game about! Im using community patch though which fixes a few bits and pieces
I still play shift, but not raced online properly before. I have the retail version, which means I cant race against steam owners of the game wihtout the cars spazzing out. Im bdigital101 if you want to add me
well its worth a try either way. The only time ive ever tried it was with a steam person and the cars were spinning round on the spot and generally spazzing out
Thanks. Yeah textures are ok, I'm just greedy I wont be satisfied until it looks like real life. Although the fact that it looks so close already is what motivates me.
Anyone know any community mod for this game? Maybe there is a mod for the drift handling which is unplayable? I was thinking of selling it off but thought of giving it another go
Yes there are community mods for this game. Im on v1.6 i think. I think i got it from NoGripRacing (NGR), with the help of Gunsmith Honestly, please please stick with it, its an awesome game. Ive used the DFGT with this game and it is possible to set up really nicely (even on the last official version) Once you have it set up how you like it this is one of the best racing games about.
