Yeah agree about the overclocks.

My GTX560Ti plays everything overclocked at 1 Ghz, with a little extra voltage, except BF3. I had to drop it back to 940MHz to get it stable.

The temps were fine at 1GHz but BF3 just didn't like it.

 

I am having issues with mapping my 360 wireless pad for Jets and Helis.
I've only played the jet mission you get early in SP....but flares will not map to any button other than Y (which is button 4 in windows/BF3).

It is pissing me off! Anyone else having issues?

 

Not had a problem so far with mine. Dialing it back to stock speeds is not an ideal fix

 

Same here I can't believe how terrible I am, seem to get nailed in one or two hits but can't seem to take anyone out even with small bursts, also not spotting people as soon as I would in BC2. I got on well with BF2 and BC2 and would normally be near the top part of the server points and be a useful team player but i'm just not adapting as quick as I'd hoped.

I think I just need to get used to it, just feels very different. 3hrs sleep the night before I played it probably didnt help much

 

I'm getting the freezing crash aswell, hopefully it gets fixed soon...

 

I have some very good games and some terrible ones. Like some of us, this is my first venture into multiplayer FPS's (never played any of the previous COD or battlefield titles - just stuck to campaign).

I am absolutely loving it though and my k/d ratio is slowly improving. On 0.798 now .

Ugh. I'm having massive problems regardless. Weirdly, the game will randomly minimize when playing; revert my GPU overclock to stock, and then refuse to maximize again. I have to force quit the game, re-apply my overclock and join a new match?

Then it'll just happen again 30 minutes later



So frustrating; I have no idea what could be causing this!

Am I the only person that finds it painfully slow to load levels? Still doing the SP campaign at the moment...

Yeah, I've not let the reported GPU temp go over 70c - had fans ramped up to 11. I've had it displayed on-screen with FPS info etc and have been watching closely.

I suppose with the clocks I'm using something else might be getting a little too hot? =S

What, and how would I check?

not much else you can do unless you want to stick some sensors on the memory.

I had a lot of fun trying to keep my EVGA GTX260 SSC cool when playing GTA4, then I realised I still had the thin plastic coating on the card. took it off, problem went away. Now on a ZOTAC 560ti OC and still trying to balance performance with this game - not everything is on max. I guess with the 580 you have everything on ULTRA, maybe dial it back to HIGH & see if things are more stable?

 

Question, what do yous think will give me better performance? Overclocking cpu or gpu?

I know sli would help but wont be happening for a while

 

71 C is the highest I've seen so far on my 580 .

 

Nope, it was already on all high; ultra is unplayable with a single card at 2560 *1440...

Hmmm, well there's definitely no plastic anywhere . I really don't want to believe something is frying though. Do we know at what sort of stage of current/wattage the Fermi OCP kicks in?
