imo you could max pretty much anything with those

id estimate that would get about 45-50fps on bf3 at ultra? not sure

With 2 6970 in CR there should not be any problem at 2560X1440, however i going to ask you why did you ask for 2560 x 1440?, the max res for 27" monitors is 2560X1600 on DVI or HDMI. And dont forget you need also a very good CPU to take full advantage of CR esspecialy in hi-end cards like 6970.

I'm able to play perfectly with ultra settings with silky gameplay on a u2711 with 2 x 1.5GB EVGA GTX580 Hydrocopper 2's.

Play Battlefield 3 on high settings with two GTX 460 in SLI, when superoverclocked it's really smooth at maximum U2711 resolution!

bf3 is intense. and you do realise this is a super resolution. you would need dual 590's to get above 60 in bf3, ON ULTRA.

and in a few other newer games today. like metro.

A friend of mine plays on that exact screen, and uses 480 SLI. He's very close to 60FPS, ultra setting, 2x MSAA. Also important to mention: he has it coupled it with an 875K @ 4GHz.

If ra released bf3 capped at high, and and ultra version for 150 would you pay the extra?

sli 3Gb 580's will do 60fps in BF3, quad sli 590's are a waste really.

Most i have pulled from the wall is just under 900w which is about 810w @ 90% effeciency but that was benchmarking with some pretty hefty overclocks.

Tri-SLi 3GB GTX580s. It's the only way to be sure you get constant 60fps really. :D:lol: In all seriousness, why do you need at least 60fps?

Well given that bf3 is way ahead of everything else out, you'll still be alright in the year.

Why do you want it to last you years

when its slow, then update it, no point paying today's prices for tomorrow's needs.

bro recently upgraded my ram, mobo, and cpu (see sig). theres nothing that those components cant handle, but in 3 or 4 years, il bet my life that there will be something better

and as above, bf3 is way ahead of other games right now
