Update 16.

Today i made some progress again and i started with the new top plate.

The old and the new one together and some coffee ofcourse.



The standoffs im using are hard to weld because they are very thin.





Lets weld them on the plate.





Some sanding.



The top plate is finisht.



Next thing up is the door handle.I only need the door handle for pulling and i want to keep the clean look.So i came up with a nice idea.

This time i lett the pictures speak for themself.



































Flipmode needs a key now to get opend and this is the key.



This is how it looks.













I will make the case feet soon so it doesnt have to stand on a ledge.

Epic welding skills , you need a welding mask for the camera , How did you get the Hex bolt to look like the same material as the larger bolt you put it into, did you paint it?

 

Thanks and yes i use a light sensitive welding helmet and i have a spare so i will re do the movie with a helmet infront of the camera.For the hex bolt i sand it.

It actually looks more insane when filmed like that!

Only thing I hate about welding aluminum, is the buzzing noise!

But to the point! Beautiful! Simply stunning build!
