You don't have to reduce your 'dubsteppyness', that wasn't aimed at you. In fact, go nuts, maybe I'll find something else I like. It was more just a general rant about where dubstep is vs. where dubstep could be.

Heh, I used to be a metal kid too, the first D'n'B I got into was rather dark and heavy. This was the first D'n'B song I really got into:

That gets really good around 1:45. The bass drop on that is eargasm worthy.

    I like this song :D.

Today I am mostly listening to:

Danger Doom - The Mouse and the Mask

If you're simply in it for the drop then checkout Datsik - Retreat. Can't be beaten imo.

I've been all over d'n'b for many a long year. Imo you can't beat the likes of Grooverider, he does what you say needs to be done for dubstep, takes it to another place. Example:

Probably the cutest, sweetest, most beautiful girl in the UK music scene at the moment! I can't tell you how much I love Pixie, I could put her in my pocket and take her home. What a girl :)

[and this video is hot, she's got some moves! :D]

From looking at your post, here are a couple of tracks you might appreciate(assuming you haven't heard them already).

So so so so so so much better than what the vast majority of dubstep has become.

To be on topic, what i'm listening to atm:

Love that one. Almost makes me want to play BC2 again (but then I remember the snipe-fests.)

    I'm so unoriginal.

I like the Bjork one, that's nice. Plus <3 Shapeshifter. Such good music.

I only just found the name of this song today. I'd great, and ridiculously catchy.

<3. Been aaaaaaaaages since I last listened to Hybrid.

Their newest album's pretty good, something of a departure from the epic breaks-lined soundscapes of old, but still very, very good.

Brilliant band, used to see them a lot. Dug out their second album again, the harder dark stuff seams to fit the winter months. There new stuff is still very good just different from the older stuff. I forget how many films i've seen where they had some sort of input in the score. Most modern Tony Scott films use something from them.

If you know of any other bands like them send them my way
