Xbox has announced that the new Dashboard (that some of us are in the beta for) will be available to the public in December 6th. Sam
its neat. i cant say i'm WOW'd with it, but its neat. Bing search is crap. man why can't they just implement a full on browser in there or SOME kind of browser. and every apps and their grandma's require Gold subscription. /piss
Answered your own question there regarding a browser. Doesn't the new dash bring Lovefilm and a few other video streaming services too or has it been put off until next year?
Yeah, it's part of the plan. Neither LoveFilm or Youtube are in the current build, and it's to be seen whether they will be part of the day 1 roll out or a later update. Sam
Hopefully iPlayer and 4od etc will make an appearance in time for the launch as well. The new beacons look interesting but I doubt I'll be using it much. I haven't given the cloud storage a try yet but it could be the best feature for those of us who still wander to friends' to play. edit - apparently the iPlayer, 4od and LoveFilm apps will be added "on an ongoing basis through the holiday months". Disappointing. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-11-22-new-xbox-360-dashboard-release-date-revealed
Dashboard is being rolled out today, No specific time, so you get it when you get it. Will we finally get BBC iPlayer? Sam
World Wide, they pulled it 29 minutes before it was due to launch. Not bothered really as I want the original blades back
Just downloaded it. Seems ok, nothing special and was expecting more tbh. Zune is offline for me right now.
Agreed. Tried the Bing search. It doesn't search my media content, which for me makes it pretty useless.
Yep, this. No more lugging my hard drive to my friends house to play on his spare Xbox. Haven't tried the new dash yet - I imagine it will be even harder to find stuff than the last one. I just hope that they sort out the 'latest addons' section so that it doesn't show the last 1000 songs released on Rock Band or Lips!!!
