Thank you very much Pete* and Blogins.

I'll contact them and see what they can offer.

And if I have to do an upgrade to suit the monitor then .... you know .... it'll be worth it in the end ;)

I upgraded from my 22" Samsung to a 24" Dell U2412M and I actually asked on this forum if I would find a 24" screen too big! How stupid I feel now...

After having my 24" screen for a week I wished I had gone even bigger!

If your budget can stretch to an amazing 27" screen like the Dell you should buy it.

Graphics cards come and graphics cards go, but that 27" Dell is an investment that will bring you pleasure for years to come.

If you can afford it, getting one brand new though would be my earnest advice.

i would get a gtx 580 for a u2711. on bf3 maxed, that will only get like 35fps which is low for some people. thus that card is the lowest id recommend, unless you know you aren't going to be playing demanding games

I play lots of games on my U2711 with my GTX570, JC2 runs on max settings, Crysis runs fairly well on ultra (high 20's) etc... So you can game really well on the U2711 with a 570, just not maxing it all out and getting 60+ FPS.

like i said, you would be lucky to get higher than 35fps maxed on a dell u2711. and to a lot of people that is a low fps score.

and chances are you would want to max battlefield out.

if you can afford a £650 monitor, and a gtx 570 in the first place, may as well save a bit more and get a 580

    I don't :)

I am happy with 35-40 fps, it is lovely and smooth on my U2711, I agree that a 580 will run it at a higher fps but not everyone chases the high FPS numbers.

I'd certainly get the 2711, as others have said, gpus come and go, whereas a monitor is more of a long term investment.

    http://www.pcbuyit.co.uk/dell-ultra...l-monitor-with-premiercolor-black-p-1069.html

The U2711 is probably the best bit of PC kit I have ever owned. Price was about £630 when I bought it a few months ago.

I decided to pay the etxra for the 3 year warranty, didn't fancy skimping and buying a refurb for the sake of £100.

My 580 runs most games at max apart from a couple which may need shadows turning down a notch.

    Awesome screen.

My 1920x1200 Samsung looks so pixellated and washed out next to the Dell.
