I bet the heatsink for that is worth more than my 6970! And thats the part you arent going to use! Keep this up man, its just amaaaaaaaazing! I am soooo jealous of the desk and this, 2 of the finest PC's on this planet IMO....
Now that someone not from the industry offered to do the waterblock for the MARS, you ought to contact some companies and ask them how they feel like left behind like that. Could spark interest here and there, maybe?
Well It'll be a lot of work creating the block for all 3 of us. So please give us some time We expect to finish it in 3-4 weeks. Going to start tonight with taking over 40 measurements from all parts of the card. So yes .. we are going to try to cool the GPU's, NF200, VRM's and memory (Guess it's hard to get something like that from Asus HQ this soon, IF they have something like that) Thanks imersa! I'll try to hurry Can't help it, thats me As above I guess I would be nowhere without the modding/hardware community I'm very exited myself too, can't wait to do the first fit! Thanks a very lot m8! Doing it all so you guys got something to look at / read. Didn't have time to play a game myself the last 13 months Nah I'm not like that Since EKWB sponsored all blocks for this build and since I'm not going to use the universal gpu blocks after all ... I want to do this block with EKWB looks to honour them.
The 'always smiling' Mr 3D (design) and Quepee from GoT (CNC milling) both really want to do this!! Just because it's a challenge for them too! Here's an update already, it's not finished yet but the basis is there I had to go to work right away Photos, measuring, info and more photos. So for who wants to know how that goes .. First a clear picture from the PCB (source: techpowerup.com) After that Daniel needed a lot of sizes. He could go on with the first design of the fullcover. I made a simple paint picture for all the sizes and heights. Daniel could go on with that again. And the first impression. Still looks boring but more will come Maybe till tomorrow!
Haha. Ok, let us step back for a second. First you get a Mars II. Then you decide to custom-water cool it. And finally you put it into a relatively tiny HTCP case? OMG. Cool to see the Solidworks progress - I use that program too in my work. Keep up the good work! Edit: Do the sides of the block and back cover actually touch? I think it would be really awesome to fully enclose the card!
He does say more will come but the basics of the block is nice & complete design wise or looks it to me so just nice details to be added to give it the extra wow touch awesome you got some keen skilled guys to help out on the custom block .
Daniel "MR3D" is an awsome guy Im glad that he is making a WC block for you , he got some badass skills in Solidworks !
Indeed totally new to me, but I do like it I should really try to learn to use solidworks myself too, I see those guys creating so many nice stuff! We are trying to hide the pcb completely, it was actually an idea from Daniel himself, he wanted to try that out for a long time For what I have in mind, and hope it'll succeed, the block is still boring Yeah I'm really happy with Daniel and Quepee helping me out, they just seem to have fun at it too He's a real cool guy, he designs blocks in a few minutes lol, unbelievable! If we ever meet you can lick my block! Thanks a lot guys, and thanks even more to Daniel!
Epic mod! And thank you for showing me that case... maker...brand... now if i can find a brick and mortar shop selling the T12... btw... that water block is looking awesome!
Congrats on being in the MOTY superb build that totally deserves to be there. The best desk mod ever built with out a doubt. Edit: What an arse I posted this in the wrong build log...lol Oops
Didn't plan to do anything today but received a package and my fingers started to tingle Still in love with the red GT fins Problem is I promised to watercool them. But an idea popped in. Hmm Corsair uses M2.5 ... Don't have them and certainly not longer ones :\ Ok re-tap them with M3 ... That works, now the rest. The fins work fine, they get pretty hot when cutting them And done. An EK block with some rad fins I love
