Not when you look at Alex B results with 2 HD6970...And his results clearly show microshutter in his results.

Reports i was reading claim micro stutter was pretty much a non issue with those cards.

I have not seen his results.

I choose between the 2 company's at the time of purchase which is faster, and buy that. So I'm no fanboy to them both.

When I had a HD5970 It ran great in most of my games. Although the big problem with that card was the headache it gave everyone, when it first come out. And needed a Bios flash to resolve it.

So a few months later, I bought another HD5970 for some Quad crossfire. My results dropped rather than increased in games, and I had bad micro shutting from it, and this was in games that were optimised for AMD CFX cards.

So then the GTX 580's came along, and I at first was a bit cautious about running multiple GPU's, but after Pete J results, I quickly purchased them. I haven't looked back since, all games scale incredible and I can max every game out with maximum AA at 6030x1080, Except Crysis 1/2 which avg 44FPS. This is due to the limit of 1.5GB. So my only flaw is, i wish I waited for the 3GB 580's...

So when the GTX 680's come out, I will be going for the GTX 680 4Gb over the 2GB, if rumours are to be true.

    And no mention of microstuttering.

I was just thinking that the 7970 was out of my budget, but considering how it performed at 5760x1080 with just a single card I may have to splurge a little bit and pick one up for an odd 1280x1024-1920x1080-1280x1024 Eyefinity setup.

Hate to say it, but I think Slizza's right. Having said that, I'll be waiting for the next Nvidia cards as I prefer the way they do things - call me a fanboy if you want!

P.S. sorry to hear about your rig blowing up Simon :( .

Looks very tasty, although I'd have to sell a lung to fund it.

The crossfire power saving is a nice feature too.

To me it seems like we have all these powerful GPUs but nothing can take advantage of them, if you look at console and how they can get so much out of the cards. and what if a developer was to get out whatever he could out of a 7970 then imagine wwhat could be possible, at the moment its just; example, bf3 runs on console and on radeon 7970 but on the 7970 you just get a better picture, theres not a massive jump, i know dx11,hbao etc, AA, higher res but still, and more frames yes, but 30fps is fine for bf3, 60fps makes it a little arcadey,

I'll wait for the next generation before upgrading.

As for now. 6850 Crossfire goodness? Yup.

Once that thing hits >$100 I'll be snapping one up and throwing that thing in crossfire. :D

    LOL nice troll ;)

"yea I know you can double your FPS, get better visuals, more impressive textures, actual tesselation, play across up to 5 screens and not be limited to an upscaled 1080p display. But it's just the same. A picture is a picture."

If that's the case I'll pop down the Lourve, whip off the Mona Lisa from the wall and leave a five Euro note on the counter as I leave. It's all the same; picture's a picture! ;)

Btw - anyone thinking of buying one, you might want to get in quick. There's even less of the 7970s right now than there are 560 Ti 448-core.

    Wow!

The two things that strike me about this card are the crossfire and overclocking returns. Some cards don't seem to show much real world results when overclocking, but the anand review I saw was very impressive

The Arma 2 results on the BT review seem wonderfully strange. How can it be so good in just the one game...

perhaps with driver updates ATI will unlock all the performance in other titles too.

Why is it that all my posts are deemed as "trolling", that's my opinion and yes picture is a picture it;s not like the computer does anything special; eyefinity is ****; 3D is buggy still, compare a 2k pc running bf3 against a ps3 running uncharted 3

You try playing BF3 online at 30fps. Terrible idea.

Also BF3 on the PC looks absolutely stunning, and makes for a far more immersive experience.

I thought 30fps was considered playable, Onlive is 20fps and even thats playable

30 fps is playable if it's the minimum frame rate, if it's the average frame rate and you're playing online you can probably expect drops to 10-15fps.

30fps even at a minimum while online gaming is not a good idea. feels like a lag fest.
