Have you overclocked your memory or tightened the timings for geekbench? Or are you just going to be stuffing some new modules in asap?

Still pretty good for the money eh? You could have bought 2 for the price of my one by now, maybe even 3 and run them into the ground!

    True.

I haven't done anything with my current memory, it doesn't respond well to even a tiny increase in speed. The 4000 memory score was just having a faster NB & HT speed for the test.

are they failing memtests? I was hoping I could have eeked out 8-8-8-24 but couldn't. They aren't so versatile.

My old single core linux machine had some really overclockable memory back in the day. Used to be able to run them at 1066 rather the 800 and they were cheap and cheerful value ones. I hate blind luck :( But that's half the fun eh?

I tried this out of curiosity. I didn't feel like buying it so I only got a 32-bit score.

First specs, ran on my laptop:
    Asus G73SW
CPU: i7-2630QM @ 2.0GHz (but is subject to Turboboost)
    Memory: 8GB DDR3 666MHz
    GPU: GTX 460M
Mobo: Whatever comes with the laptop :p

    Score: 8302

It was getting very toasty at 4.53GHz, so I've upped the fans to 12v.

I may go for a glory run if the kids will leave me alone long enough.
It's getting difficult now though, I reckon I'm getting near the limit of the board's QPI ; and maybe the CPU's ceiling.

Damn you and your 23x multiplier! :D

I'm only using a multi of 21 atm for 4.42 GHz but I was hitting 90s during Geekbench. I didn't bother with prime or any stress test because I'm pretty sure I'd hit the thermal ceiling and it would just shut it off.

I've got my eye on one of these though so I will be after you soon.

So you still have some headroom with decent cooling. :thumb: Damn!

No! You can almost buy a Corsair H100 for that!

But the Phanteks is much better than the h100, almost as good as an NH-D14, although at £70 your probably better of going with the NH-D14 as I think it's at least a fiver cheaper and slightly better cooling performance than the Phanteks.

From the review I looked at its better than the D14 and H100. And also if I got a H100 then i couldn't say I beat you with air cooling, Spreadie :D

Ah yes I re-watched the review that TTL did seems the Phanteks begins to pull ahead of even the NH-D14 when you start using crazy volts :D
