    Hey guys,

I was wondering what would be the best low profile card for a maximum of £40 to spend! This is because I have a slim line and the graphics are a let down on the gaming front since they crash newer games at the moment as I have an onboard graphics!! Never good for this!

    Thanks guys

The low-end 5xxx and 6xxx cards are great, the 6450 would be your best choice at the moment. Does well in most modern games with the settings turned down. Friend of mine put a 5450 in his small-profile rig and ran the Valve games without problems, I believe his CPU ended up being the bottleneck for most things.

I put a LP 5450 in my son's PC. He doesn't play anything too taxing but, yes, they are great for the likes of HL2, Portal and TF2 @ 1440x900; and probably have a bit more in the tank.

The 5450 that boiled elephant put in my system plays most games at 1920x1080 quite well on medium to high settings. The only game I have had trouble with on anything but low settings is just cause 2, but like he said the ram and CPU settings are bottlenecking the system so would fully recommend it although cooling maybe a problem.
