In 120mm blue, black or white? Quite simply, the GT whine is a worry, since I'd probably take me about 3 minutes before I removed them out of sheer annoyance.

The Phobya Nano 2G was my first choice, but it's red. :sigh:
    Help me out guys(and gals).

EDIT: for a radiator, for reference, I have bunch of Yate Loon D12SL-12's laying around and a couple of Gelid Silent 12's.

The old sycthe 1450 are what you need! Becoming rare though im afraid as thr newer models really do have a whine to them.

I have installed them on a few occasions hoping that the next batch would be better, but have always ended up taking them out because I cant put up with the whine.

Aerocool Sharks are great for radiators. You can get them in a variety of colours too.

The new Swiftech Helix fans due out later this month look promising.

I'm currently using Noiseblocker PL2s. They're a bit louder than the GT1450's but have a smoother sound. They're a bit pricey though.

Opinions on the AC F12's? another potential option seem to be Scythe K-Flex's

If those Swiftech helix's are any good I'll probably swap out in a few months.

Is the rad on exhaust or intake? If it's intake you might want to go with Silverstone Air Penetrators.

Air pens aren't that good for rads, as they have fairly low pressure...

Heh no worries bud - still decent fans, and certainly not as bad as the 1850s. But theres a particular batch of 1450s that are (in my opinion) the sweet spot between performance and noise.

    Sorry for thread derail!

Are the 1850's loud even at lower rpm's, when used in conjunction with a fan controller?

flame696 is right - nothing will come close to the noise/CFM performance of a Gentle Typhoon for high-impedance use (radiator). The design of the impeller is just incredibly efficient for pressing air through the small interstices of heatsinks/rads and the funky bite marks on each blade help the acoustic performance.

Scythe S-Flex SFF21F (1600rpm) are the next best thing but they are very expensive and you may find that you want to undervolt them or put them on a controller.

    What's your budget?
