    Those pistons remind me of this designer table I once saw that uses the same mechanism:

    I loved project flipmode and no doubt this will be much more awesome. Your metal working skills are amazing and I can't wait to see what you have in store for us :D.

    Are you worried at all about one of the lifting mechanisms failing? It seems if you had a single support and one failed it would sink to the ground but if one failed and the other didn't while one powered up it might do some damage to your desk. Otherwise very cool.

    No im not worried because its the same as you say maby your cars engine will stop one day.
    Maby it happens and maby not.So no im not worried at all.

    Update 2. 28-01-12

    Today it was time to work on the desk again.The plan was to finsh welding the desk but i made the covers for the columns first.

    Here's a drawning of the covers im gonna make.

    Lets do some work.This time im making the pieces by hand.

    I am using 3mm aluminium for the covers.First i made the angled pieces.

    Then i made the rest of the pieces i need.

    Time to put the pieces together and spotweld them.

    Then i made the last pieces to mount the covers on the desk.

    The last pieces spotwelded inside the covers.

    Now its time to weld the covers.

    Then some sanding.

    The covers are done and this is the way i mount the covers on the desk.

    Loving the metal work. Just to get a scale i am going to guess 142x35 + the front tray 30mm ?
