Are you saying you have bought another chip just to get some higher clocks?

Are you going to upgrade your memory? Or is there not much between you guys (YOu and Pookey that is)

If you see my 32bit & 64bit score, on the previous page. You will notice that I have taken back the top spots with my 1600Mhz memory. I have no need to upgrade my ram yet, unless Pookeyhead comes back with a better OC and higher score.:D

Fair enough. I suppose its nicer to have the CPU over the RAM. Plus, that's a lot of RAM!

Yep, 4GB of that ram is a RAMDisk, for my internet cache. Saves thrashing my SSD's.:D

He he... welcome to Bit Tech Stu! ... prepare your wallet! :)

I'm sure someone actually calculated how much money has been spent on hardware as a direct result of this thread, and it was quite frankly, embarrassing.:D

@Simon... you're an arse... err... I mean congratulations! That the new super duper batch 3960X? I was holding off buying one until I saw how yours went.

I'll update the boards later... possibly tomorrow. Pretty tired tonight, and may get some SWTOR in before bed time :)

@Simon... just noticed your IBT screengrab. standard for 5 loops? Set Max for 20 loops.. see how long it can go at that voltage. I can run IBT at this 4.7 with 1.28V all day long when on standard, as it only seems to use 4GB of RAM. Set on Max however, it uses all 16GB, and needs 1.36 to be stable.

I've always gamed.. I find SWTOR soothing actually... where as WoW made me want to kill things. Weird really as SWTOR is basically WoW with light sabers.

    Anyway.. yeah...

Simon, I thought you had rads with the surface area of Mars?

Stu.. what was your clock speed? Geekbench doesn't report it properly. I'm assuming the same speed you posted in Facebook? If not, let me know and I'll amend it.

Haha, you know you want too.:D

Yeah, I will have a play with it in a bit. I have managed to use Offset mode + in the bios to allow the voltages to drop when Idling. CPU @ 5Ghz is 1.4V, and idles @ 1.2Ghz @ .8v. :)

Yep, but it's cause I'm using Arctic Silver 5 TIM and It's only been applied a few hrs ago + my room temps were 27C, so my Idle temps are at 28-29C.
Ran out of my 24ct Diamond TIM, so I will have to get some more. :)

Well, with that RAMDisk, it will wipe clean every reboot. so it's down to how much surfing you do.
Depending on what browser you are using, there are guides on Google for each one. :)
