    Hi guys,

I have a potential new "budget build" coming up. And I want to know if there is a graphics card out there, that will play games well but costs under £100? Or very close to £100. Its going to be for a casual gaming setup.

    Thanks in advance! :thumb:

Bran new, a GTX 550 Ti.

However, you can get decent second hand cards on eBay and elsewhere :) You unlock the marketplace on these forums once you reach 75 posts iirc.

GTX 460 can be had for under £100 and is far more overclockable than the GTx 550

You can pick up second-hand 460's for a good price, or new 550Tis, the 460's have a bit more kick, though. At the cost of being a little hotter running, AFAIK.

Thanks for the swift responses guys! Much appreciated, what about these cards Radeon HD5670?

Have a friend offering one for £50, the silent version (huge heatsink!)

It's a terrible card for gaming.

    Ah thanks.

The GTX 460 look alright as well, not the most ugly card out there. I can see they are a few years old now, does that reflect in their quality at all?

Because the GTX 460 is an extremely comparable card, and many games prefer Nvidia cards over Radeon cards. Depends on what games he's playing and if he can tolerate the Catalyst Control Center (#1 reason I prefer NVidia). In most games the GTX 460 will either be barely behind or slightly above the 6850. Plus that's a reference cooler 6850 it looks like, so it will cool worse and be louder than any non-reference 460, or 6850 for that matter.

See if you can find a second hand 5850/6870/460GTX/. They should all in the 100 price bracket now.

You guys are referring to the GTX 460 1gb right, and not the 768mb?

Yes, but the 786mb version is still a great card. All comes down to price really.
