Other Do I Need A Bigger Psu?

I've recently made a custom build these are the spec im just wondering if i am going to have to upgrade my 550wat.

this is the psu running it all Ultra LSP550 550-Watt Power Supply, is it enough?lemme know ASAP!! please and thank u all

 

You should be just fine, adequate for the listed build.

 

550 W is plenty, but I have no clue if "Ultra" power supplies are half decent or just plain fire hazards...

 

550w should be fine... just dont overclock to much the deneb cpus are quiet power hungry!

 

Aren't Ultra the company who claimed to own the patent on modular cables and were going to sue every PSU manufacturer who was using modular systems?

If so, I'm pretty sure they're the same as the one that blew up in a CustomPC PSU labs test a few years back.


It's got 30A on the one 12V rail.

 

550 is fine, unless you are planning on upgrade some of the part later

 

Yep, it is good for your configuration, but that PSU is not best quality...

And as Jakob said do not OC to much, because there is possibility you fry something.

 

Which means it can only supply 360W via the 12v rail, most decent PSU's can provide nearly their entire wattage through the 12v rail if needs be.

 

Your current PSU would do just fine.

 

That is an indicator of the age of the design rather than the quality of the PSU.

 

Yeah, chuck that psu out and get yourself a quality psu.

 

No way a good quality 450w or basic 500 would power that with plenty of headroom. I have seen someone with a quad core and gtx 550 with a 1050w PSU, I laughed for a week.

 

A quality PSU manufacturer wouldn't use such an old design for a PSU that can be bought today.

 

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe we are talking about the OPs existing power supply which may be a number of years old. I didn't see any reference to the age of the PSU. Having said that would probably be wise to play it safe and update to a PSU with a better pedigree.

Edit: Found an unsubstantiated reference to Andyson as the OEM.

 

I guess only the op can tell us, but I did find it readily available to buy on the web.

 

Existing PSU is suposidly made by ShenZhen RuiSheng Yua . If this is true and i suggest the OP either confirm or not wether this is true but I would not use it with my expensive new PC bits. It might be fine but then again it may very well not.
