    excellent!!!
vinyl on a heatsink isn't good idea IMHO. high temps could easily corrupt vinyl or even destroy glue...

    Thanks mate!
And it's alright, there will be plenty of air blowing over the chipset too. Nor will I be loading the system a lot, so it should stay cool. :thumb:

Alright guys, I managed to get some of the case parts painted today, but not enough to show you. Bloody weather always lets me down. :(
On a happier note, I have some black paracord on the way, so I can carry on sleeving!

Although I give a lot of thanks for what you are saying... ;)
It's not even a patch as interesting as your projects matey, but that's what make mine so special. Low budget and mistakes are good. :p

    Thanks.

    Case Painting Almost Done!

Alright guys, I'm back with another update! It was still a little cold for rattle can action outside, so I took refuge in the garage! I know the GTO is gloss black, but I hate it, and it's not the best idea for a HTPC. ;) But anyway, lets see the pictures of this fun two days- where most of it was spent helping fix the ECU for the Range Rover, I really so love re- soldering crap cables. :p

    Case bits ready to paint!

There's the fan holder after a coat of grey primer. :)

And the bottom half of the case left to dry! I'll be back when I'm done.

There we go! I'll have it back together soon. :)

Last but not least, I had a little packet arrive today. What was in it? Lots of black paracord kindly donated by Black Elf! Let's have a look:

That's it for today, I'll be spending the whole of tomorrow sleeving. See you then! ;)

Also, I have some chrome trim arriving in the post, does anyone have some techniques for making it look it's best? :)

I'm not a first time sleever matey! :D
We'll see how it goes, if not, I have some really good Chilled PC and MDPC stuff left.

My mistake :D I'm guessing it just takes a bit more patience & persistance to do it well, looks worth doing though. :)

Front Panel Sleeving Done! Much More Sleeving To Come. AND CHROME! :D

Alright guys, time for another update, it's a shiny one! :D But lets begin with the sleeving:

We're starting with the front panel, and to save just a tiny bit more space, I've chopped the SATA cable.

First connector pins removed, I'll be back when they look better! :D

Sorry, forgot about a vital step, heatshrink!

So, I've sleeved all of the main front panel connectors. I can't do USB and HD audio yet as I'm waiting from an order from Chilled PC. But anyway, lets have a look at the result. (Not the best photos :p)

But that's not all! For tomorrow, I have some lovely chrome trim! What will I be doing? :naughty:

Well that's it until tomorrow everyone, I'll be finishing up on the painting and getting the case back together with the chrome. For the first time, you'll have a real taste of what this mod is going to be like! And then, I'm off to Scan on Friday, as well as starting on the Paracord work! I'm going to be busy over the next few days, so stay tuned everyone!
