    I have a problem, I need an 8mm led but all you can get is 5mm or 10mm.
    I have ordered 10mm but there a bit too big which leads me too my question.
    How much of the lens can I shave down to achieve the 8mm diameter?:dremel:

    you'll be fine taking them downt to 8mm. Just don't goo to far on one side.

    I used to do this to take the domed top off for a more diffused light. Roughing them up with some wet & dry can produce some nice effects. Very time consuming though!

    Hase you tried looking on Farnell or RS Components?

    Have you tried using Google?

    8mm is just as common as 5mm or 3mm or 10mm really...

    Well I'll be, I never even knew they existed, I was in Maplins (a few results) and they had none listed in there catalogs and all my googling only showed 3,5&10mm!

    Thanks

    Replace the link text between the brackets after generating the URL code using the button.

    Example (replace the curly brackets with square brackets):

    Code:
    {URL="http://www.google.com"} Goooooogle {/URL}
