That sucks, but apart from this beauty, I hate the Xbox, so I can't be of help.

Wow, a great mod. Sooo cooool. Hope you sort out the disk problem. May be the front panel with USB 3.0 interferes? I mean the original one was with USB 2.0 header?

And I don't know if you have decided on a window yet, but I am thinking, don't make it square or rectangle or square with round edges. It's so simple- won't look good on this kind of thing. Any other shape will do: something like CM storm enforcer window? or Corsair 800D? or Thermaltake V5- it's a strange window (it will show the WC only) or some kind of "X" in some shape. Anyway I can't w8 to see this thing finished. :)

1st rule of modding: make one modification - check compatibility/working state...

All Fixed. Sata Cable was plugged into the HDD Sata Port ( Just below the disc drive sata port ).

I honestly thought i double checked everything. Was just about to strip it down and test everything.

Mounted the 2 Momentary Switches, i couldnt spend the $40+ on Black Vandal switches.

Filled the original holes to fit the 19mm Switches

5 Weeks till i become a father, so i need to start putting in the time to finish this build.

    I/O Plate

Starting work on the rear of the case. I would prefer some thinner aluminium but its what i could get for free at work. I was going to use 2 pieces and place them between the original rear part of the case. Still not 100% sure what i will be doing. Will be painted black when finished.

Just fits, i managed to squeeze the aluminium behind the case and the motherboard for a nice and clean finish, looks better then having it on the outside of the case, i will try and get some thinner aluminium and re cut to fit better.

Your project along with me playing a lot more Xbox Live lately has got me itching to do a small personal project based around a slim Xbox ozzy! Could you do me a huge favour and post accurate dimensions of the Xbox slim motherboard? Component height doesn't matter, just the width and breadth. Thanks! Your project is looking good :thumb:

    [edit]

I've found "approximate" dimensions of the board online - roughly 214mm x 214mm is what I've got, but I need accurate dimensions for my SolidWorks model!

    Side Window

Wasnt sure if i was going to go with a window but i went with something small and not over the top. Might in the future make a complete perspex side panel as a spare.

Bought myself a Dremel 300, definatly worth spending the money

Cut smaller then your marks and spend the time filing. Makes all the diference in having a nicer window / finish.

Etch Primed the edges and then will finish with a coat of matte black around the edges.

PSU hole looks like the perfect place for an on/off switch for the lighting, maybe a small controller for the cooler fan?

Coming along nice mate. Keep it up! Its taking FOREVAR!
