Gonna buy a nice knob for the fanmate

    Joystick button
    [IMG]

    PW switch and SATA
    [IMG]

    In place
    [IMG]

Let´s put some more pressure on the ATX :naughty:

The HDD barely made it in there, had to use some force. I hid the cable mess in the corner
    [IMG]

Magnifying glass in place. Some ugly hot glue to keep it there
    [IMG]

Is it a giants hand or a very small htpc?? ... No, it´s an OPTICAL ILLUSION!!! :D

That vinyl decal for the hdd is going to waste hidden away like that :D but it's all looking amazing, you seem to be a really well rounded modder with good knowledge of all you need to know, great viewing & no slacking off neither. :eeek::D:clap:

    Thank you Prania!

Yeah, I know. Guess I didn´t had the startbutton in mind when I came up with the dacal. Waster!! ... But thanks for the comment. Means I´m doing something right at least

    Glad to inspire!!

Thanks jokkos! I guess I just love to squeeeeeze fragile components...

Maybe bad news. The graphics didn´t work on todays testrun. No signal to monitor :sigh:
Best case scenario: The "riser-link" has come lose under mobo
Worst case scenario: I´ve killed it somehow...

Anyhow, I am not looking forward to the consuming disassembly tomorrow :sigh:

    Birthday next tuesday... Panic mode!!

:( I dunno mate, your a magician at modding & you'll get it straight, I has faith but fingers crossed it is just a loose connection on the link. :)

And now I can see why you haven't been slacking, next Tuesday, wowzers. :D

Thanks for the fingers there mate. Loose connection on the riser link, that´s all, luckily! Took some time to put it all together again, but now I´m back on track  Tested the monitor also. It looks good, no signal problems there. Maybe just a tiny tiny tiny shadow effect, but nothing bothering really. Final assembly tomorrow!

    Love this build :D

I really like the sharpness of the woodwork :) it's so easy for things to get a bit fuzzy , bit rounded off as things progress but this is spot on :thumb:

    Me too

Thank you bugeye! Glad you noticed the sharpness. Don´t like rounded corners, and I am a bit of a perfectionist I guess... From what I´ve seen in your build, I sense something similar in you :D

    Final assembly

Started by flippin the monitor fittings upside down for better height

    Before:

    ... and after:

Since the HDD-decal is hiding behind the joystick(fail!), I decided to make a new one, for the memory this time. Golden!

    A view from above
    [IMG]

Found a nice knob for the fanmate
    [IMG]

    Frontpanel
    [IMG]

Brass tube and black ball handle
    [IMG]

    Brass window mounted
    [IMG]

    Bottom piece
    [IMG]

What´s this now??? Velour??? Got a dirty idea the other day. Zalman heatsink, brass, red light and velour. That´s what I´d call pure PORN!!

    Some spray glue
    [IMG]

Some ugly cutting... The fabric will be on a safe distace from components.

    USB cable soldered
    [IMG]

    Cover (... bottom really)

    Skrews
    [IMG]

    Rubbers on the feet
    [IMG]

Well, I guess that´s it! The common feeling of emptyness has entered body and mind. But it´s been a really fun build this one, learned a lot. Mothers birthday on tuesday, so I made it(barely) Thanks for shown interest in my creation, hope you´ll like the final shots. Got some studio time next week. Stay tuned for final pictures :lol::lol:

So how did I miss this build? This is really neat. I adore the monitor. Very nice to say the least.

I do a lot of carpentry in my day job so I know good stuff when I see it :thumb: and I do like things to be clean and sharp myself :)

Think it´ll be allright Furball. If my mother thinks of porn when she sees a computer, then the earth is a flat plate and I am the son of Jesus! :D

    Thanks again Peteski!

Thanks Waynio! Yeah... This is one quiet evening :D

Thank you Voigts! Means a lot

    Thank you Beast!!

    That´s what I expected! :D

As you may´ve noticed, I´ve only shown close ups during the process. I´m not evil, I just like to save the zoom outs for final pictures. Keep some mystic around the project I guess...

Tested the light today with everything mounted inside and it looks terrific. A bit magical IMO. Hard to shoot ofcourse, with lens, magnifier and all... Have to be seen IRL.

    Anyway, here´s a small teaser
