    Annnd the ebay Vultures are abound, £50 plus postage from one chap. I wonder if he even has stock...

    Anyone selling them on eBay - or anywhere other than RS or Farnell - is either a fraudster or a ripoff merchant. Either they're selling something they don't have and will never send to you, or they're selling on a board that they have ordered at an inflated price.

    Stick with legit sellers to be safe, even is they ebay sellers are legit you'd be funding profiteers, Raspberry PI's will be available to all

    I registered interest at RS as Farnell's site was down.

    I've used farnell a lot in the past for fittings, switches and Papst fans back in the day.

    Btw They said somewhere a future revision of the board will have standoff mounting points.

    The RasPI is a nice platform but it's more closed than heaven gates are for politicians. They claimed to have opened a great part of the software, while in fact they just released open stubs that link to code in closed blobs. It may be a nice platform for playing around, but I wouldn't trust it for anything serious or where my data matters a lot.
