It's looking pretty nailed on that the next Assassin's Creed will be set during the American Revolution, with a Best Buy employee snapping a photo of a promo and an ad banner being pulled from GameInformer. Expect an announcement in the very future and the usual autumn launch. Thoughts on the new setting?
looks like there's even more weapons. bow, gun, axe. i wish they make a 1999 mode where all missions has to be completed in stealth, only throwing knives and hidden blade. after all, the title says Assassin's Creed, not one-man-army. having said that, im excited to see how the 3rd major release in its series will evolve. hopefully with reworked multiplayer that punishes people on roof tops.
Looks pretty sweet, although I was always hoping from an Asian themed AC like in ancient China or Japan. I have to say I haven't played any of the new AC games, last one I completed was number 2 (which I enjoyed a lot!) so I may have to check out Brotherhood and Revelations in the mean time
I bought Revelations the other day as it was £15 in Steam, playing through ACII for PC as I played I and II on console xD Can't wait to play Revelations and III when it comes out!!
So, do we take the side of the poor downtrodden American's against the nasty Brits again? Who's the protaginist in this one? Mel Gibson? THEY'LL NEVER TAKE OUR FREEEEEDOOOOM. ****, that was Braveheart..... I'm still gonna buy it...
main games: Altair - The Third Crusade, Middle East Assassin's Creed Ezio - Renaissance, Italy (Revelations in Turkey) Assassin's Creed 2 Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Assassin's Creed Revelations ??? - American Revolution, North America Assassin's Creed 3 no doubt followed by 5 more similar games. Asian would be great but won't work, because the every AC series' enemy has been English crusaders. there wasn't many in far East. (and Desmond doesn't look like an Asian)
Yeah, how dare they celebrate overthrowing the rule of a tyrranical Empire and achieving democratic self-determination? My heart bleeds for you. - I never finished AC2, the repetition just got to me towards the end; but I plan to go back to it eventually and Brotherhood/Revelations too. I found the story fairly compelling and I'm excited to see events move through history with the series.
Opium War, /Post. I'll tell you that the Opium War alone could cover pages of intrigue. Couple it with the Indian Mutiny (lol) and you have a story for the ages.
i considered that, (in fact, typed half of it, like how it's possible to be set in ShangHai) but Desmond doesn't look like an Asian........ and the series is said to be a 3 part series, they have to work their way to America somehow. Brotherhood had a coordinate that is in New York.
Doesn't have to be Asian. He could just be working there. Hell he could do Japan too under the guise of being Portugese and starting the Tokugawa era. The possibilities are endless.
I seem to remember that it's not actually a democracy, it's a republic. Or Top Gear style - "It's not the Desmond, it's the Desmond's Asian cousin!"
Monday 5th of March their is a major announcement by Ubi about AC3, will hopefully see then if the American Civil war setting is correct.
Official boxart came along with 5th March date, which basically confirms the Revolution setting; the 13 star flag in the background is the Betsy Ross (1777-1795).
