De build Silencio 550 MbK I’ve made this build for a competition started November last year thanks to Coolermaster and MSI Now the competition has ended I want to share it wih you guys. A nice little budget pc with the beautifull Cooler Master Silencio 550 The hardware: Motherboard: MSI Z68A-G45 GPU: 2 X MSI N550GTX-Ti Cyclone PSU: Coolermaster Silent Pro Hybrid 1050W CPU Cooler: Zalman CNPS8700 NT RAM: Corsair 4X 2GB DDR3-1600 And various other products as the build progresses the beginning : Sketchup design Outside: The inside: And thanks to this design ................. it gaves me access to the next round Shortly after that I got a pretty comprehensive package The package for the second round: Very extensive, I can definitely make something nice with this First the Cooler Master products: The case where it is all about .......... Cooler Master Silencio 550 Out of the box All beautifully black Box with tools and other stuff Coolermaster has also provided 3x SickleFlow 120............Red, Green and Blue LED Fan Not gonna use them, but they came with the contest The CPU coolerr: Hyper 612S. Not gonna use this one….sorry And a great power supply, the Cooler Master Silent Pro Hybrid 1050W All modulair I really like the colors from this PSU The fan controller The cables from the fan controller Enough modulaire cables The products from MSI The motherboard: MSI Z68A-G45 (B3) En last but not least the MSI N550GTX-TI Cyclone II IGD5 So here we go Stripped the case and this is whats left Marked the top for the two fans Sawn the top Yeh, it fits Next job the front Marked Sawn it Isolation still intact Next round Placed two fans for measuring Placed it back and powered it up First sawn a piece of green 5mm acrylic Whitch is gonna be placed like this After that adjusted the rad grill And cut and bent 2 aluminum strips And slid it under the grill Like this I did not quite align this with the acrylic, because I want some light reflected to the green acrylic I also have made the side panel for this ive cut a square in the existing panel. Custom made transparent acrylic panel Around the transparent acrylic a small edge UV green 5mm acrylic Both acrylic pieces attached to existing Inside And placed it to see how it looks. Think it looks nice with the Nanoxia fans Still isnt finished Cut another piece of 1mm black aluminum This is gonna be placed again on the green and transparent acrylic and past it on all sides 5mm space left, so the green acrylic is visible Inside And put it all togheter That's it for now!!!
Your right RedManc, I will not sleep anymore and finish this build Update!!! Spent some time to do the midplate / psu cover. First made an iron bracket and covered with (what else) UV green acrylic and black acrylic A small hardware update. Bought myself a nice cpu cooler in the style of the MSI Cyclone GPU Next to the MSI Cyclone And placed everything. There's gonna be a second Cyclone Combination is pretty good I guess To stay in the line of the sketchup design I sawn a piece of UV green acrylic and paste it with black vinyl and placed it where the HDDs will come Cut some rectangular shapes and covered it with matt black vinyl And after cutting, pasted and filed... the end result To be continued!!!
Just with my fretsaw, nothing special Update!!! Been busy with the outside: the top of the case. I used a piece of UV green acrylic And sawn it Also cut a piece of black aluminum, A little smaller than the acrylic piece And paste it on the acrylic I have sawn a piece of mesh for the opening on top, below this there will be 2 Nanoxia fans just like the sketchup And I did the other side of the case. For this I have marked another piece of green acrylic Sawn it again I want the looks like the other side, so I have sawn a piece of black transparent acrylic and put it in the Green. Ok its a fake window but looks good Cut a piece Aluminum again And the other side with the fake window The outside is almost finished, next is the the casbadge from Coolermaster and MSI For the case badge I have again called on a good friend Pascal ... thanks man He has some connections with the best advertising company from my town and perhaps the Netherlands Ladies and gentlemen of Letterop thank you for this wonderful piece of work Pasted the sticker gently on a piece of 3mm green acrylic And enlighted from the back it looks like this Very good looking casebadge To place this on the front I have made a bracket of aluminum And a piece of 5mm green acrylic sawn and drilled And made some oblique and curved corners And tapped M3 holes in the green front panel Placed the bracket Mounted the piece of 5mm acrylic And just like the sketchup: the "case badge" Need to paint the radgrill black again Used a glowpad for this to enlight it Power on And placed the acrylic back And power on Casebadge on it And again power on Total shot And a night shot Still some small things to do for the cover, but im getting there Grtzzz.
Very nice backlighting for the logos. Did you manage to bend the aluminium without destroying the anodizing on the bends?
Update!!! Hello my modding friends, this time i have made a cover for the power suply Just like the sketchup sawn some small slots for the air After some sawing and filing Also made a small piece of green acrylic to close the airslots in the door Sawn a piece to cover up the 5.25 bay Placed like this And leave some space for the dvd writer and cables Removed the protection sheet Used some black vinyl to get the same looks as the other pieces And added my own logo Behind this another glowpad And another piece of acrylic for the slot mechanisme Also pasted with black vinyl Did some last stuff to the front and inside, like placing some smd strips And again used some Vinyl on the cpu cooler Sleeved some extensions for the power GPU's And the 24 pins So the build is almost finished, just some small things like placing a second GPU. And then...... the final pictures Placed the second GPU Power up some extra light Painted the SLI bridge That makes a lot of difference Placed the side panel, and again some pics Final pics coming up
kier i absolutely love your builds what you do with acrylic amazes me and inspires to start my own mod. keep up the good work and +rep to you
Yes, this is very impressive. I love that CPU cooler - it looks kind of like the Ironman chest-thingie. Kier, where did you buy those glowpads and how much are they?
