Nice. How much of that is lighting and how much is processing?

Unfortunately it's all post processing. The original set of pics (which were stitched together in photoshop) are pretty poor tbh. I then applied a black & white adjustment layer (blending mode: darken), then a levels adjustment layer (blending mode: color burn), and finally an exposure adjustment layer to bring out the colours.

The original motherboard didn't even have any red lol. It's one of those horrible green-yellow coloured boards.

It was just a fluke really, and not what I was originally aiming for.

    It's great though! :D
In my opinion, the solder points for the DIMM slots are a bit of a distraction point, away from what would be a really cool photo of engraved wires leading to the reverse of a socket- a shot where you would always start from the outside and have the eye drawn in. I think a version with the DIMM slots cropped would be nice too. :)

Thanks for the feedback. Looking at it again, I agree with you. If the solder points were subtler, then this composition could work, but as it is, they do stand out too much.

Nowhere near the average standard in this thread, so please accept my apologies for lowering the quality levels! I just loved the colours

I really like this one dude - the composition is strong and the strong contrast endows the scene with a real sense of mood. :thumb:

More beauty stuff. I'm happier with the lighting in this one. The only change from the last one (on the previous page) is that I pulled the lights back slightly towards the camera. I was determined to get this lighting setup working!

    stupidly large Panoramic

Might want to click through for its full size. It was originally 80 odd shots from a d7000 through a tamron 70-300 at about 175mm, it was actually to big to be built in elements 10, had to be built as 3 separate panoramas, then reduce those by third and recombine for this final pano, its not perfect, specially in the sky and sea, but I've given up now trying to fix it.
