Even the £60 mech keyboards will be better than any rubber dome

For £100-£150, you'll get a very decent board

Yes. Filco is the best board in that price range, go tenkeyless and never look back :)

Yeah got the steelseries heavy mouse mat, it's way larger than I thought, covers over half the desk!
Vesa mount up and new mouse working well, just got to wait for the keyboard to arrive from Hong Kong now.

@virus44 I noticed a massive difference from my Cyborg V5.

I don't know anyone (at all) who was ever not impressed by a mechanical the first time they tried them (not including the massive old clicky IBM model M ones)

Not that there is anything wrong with the massive old click IBM Model M ones..

You're jumping straight into the deep end of mechanical boards

I don't get Topre board, they just seem like fancy rubber domes. But then again, I've never typed on one.

They feel nothing like rubber domes, you need to buy one.

I'll be buying a buckling spring next, since I've tried all the MX switches I've wanted too. Then I'll think about a topre.

I definitely bought in, Filco TKL at work and the Quickfire at home. Does it make me a better typist? I miss fewer letters so make less typos than when I was using a rubber dome keyboard so maybe a touch.

I spend all day typing so feel is probably a touch more important to me than most and there's no way I'll be going back to a dome keyboard after this. Scissor I can live with for shorter periods of time but it has to be mechanical for me for all day use. It just feels a lot nicer.

If anyone is worried about blues being too noisy at work then this should help reduce the noise:

Your kidding right? It looks like a femdom for a keyboard.
