I work for ASUS and this motherboard just arrived into the country. I had the time to give you a unique insight on how to overclock it and manage to get 5GHZ on air without too many troubles.

If you have any questions I will try and respond promptly.

My 3759k refuses to do 4.8, let alone 5GHz, so I think it was just a lucky chip...

I've heard of a few chips that refuse to go stable after a certain point, especially with Ivy Birdge for some reason.

You'll certainly need some good cooling to do that all year but its not impossible with say a 3*120mm setup.

A new user spamming with a foreign alphabet.. nothing tasty ;)

4*140mm here :) Though I have 2 gpus going under with it shortly. Perhaps ill get another 240 or 360 at some point.

4.8 is plenty. I'll keep 5 for those tryin' to beat someone at benching kamikaze runs :D

    ?

For the record, he openly states he's from ASUS and it's no different than any of the other threads by any companies that post on bit-tech. Daniel just joined ASUS Australia, but he's been an active member of the modding forum for some time here. The thread is about discussion of 5GHz 3570Ks.

Would anyone like me to post up some more pics of the Maximus V Extreme and Formula?

No Bindi, he didn't report Daniel. There was another user that posted in the thread spamming iffy links. He has been deleted now.

In answer to your question, yes please :)

OH LOL. Mods are too efficient

I'll ping Baz and check it's OK, then I'll post up some shots of the M5F and M5E this week :thumb: Is there anything you want to see specifically?

    I'm a protected species here lol :p

As for 5GHZ 24/7, it's not completely practical and the real world gains are quite minimal for the heat output. 4.5ghz seems to be a good sweetspot though.

I have cut the IHS off my 3770, replaced the TIM and lapped the B'jesus out of it and I still can't run 4.9 without sailing into the 90s in prime with a 560 on full blast!

    I've settled on 4.7 :)

I have never overclocked before but am curious to try. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just got the Asus Maximus V Extreme motherboard and the Core I7 3770K

    I have DDR3-1600 1.5V memory.

What BIOS settings do I need to set to get 4.5 GHz?

any progress on that matter? Just got me the same board and cpu. But that bios...switched from P5Q-e to this board and it looks all so different ;(
My goal is 4.5 24/7 as well.

I have a M5Formula with an i5 @ 4.5ghz that i'd love to get to 5Ghz. wasnt it that the i5 overclocked higher than the i7 i read somewhere.... running 3x120 rad on the cpu loop (+ram) but am just not sure how to go about the nitty gritty settings of getting it stable.

    Rip:rock:
