Why did you sell your old computer and did you really need a laptop instead? And isn't this not as fast as the previous one? Hell of a laptop tho !

    Thank you! :)
I will give that ago once BF3 has finished downloading. :)

    Thanks Sir Devil! :)

Thanks! But I wasn't going to spend another £1500 with Dell, when I got the SSD's and ram for under £400. :)

Also adding these extra components doesn't void the warranty. :)

    Thanks mate! :)

    Thanks! :)

I have the SSD set up as separate drives. (Wanted to run trim).:)
Yep 7mm, but the caddy can take two 9.5mm and one 7mm HDD/SSD. :)

Just had a quick go on JC2. FPS varied from 120-160fps maxed out with maximum AA (8X) :)

So I'm very sure Crysis will run very well. :)

I will do. Just wish I had faster BB. Downloading at my maximum speed - 1050KBs

    Thanks :)

I sold my Rig as I'm not home enough to use it, and the missus hardly uses it either. :)

So as I work away, this was the best option for me. :)

Really nice mate, as said - need moar pics!!!

What would you say 1 of your gpus is the equivalent of desktop wise?

I remember spending £2k on a Rock laptop in 2007 but it had a single dead pixel on its lovely glossy panel and I didn't get the dead pixel warranty >.<

Update your sig with the new awesomeness!

I'd be interested the setup in your lorry to play it. Is there a fold out desk/enough space?

I have to say, during running the game, the fans were very quiet, and my lap is still here, hasn't been roasted.
Very impressed how cool and quiet it is. :)

Did they get back to about getting some freebies to you?

I got some discount through a dell coupon for 10% and 4% through quidco but it still sucks paying £20 shipping for a 2.7k laptop.

Hmm nice, do many truck stops have decent wireless for online gaming thought or are even dongles worth trying for that matter? (asking as i have never tried them myself)

I can see the sense in having it for watching movies.

Bit much for your games of tetris tho.

But i bet your mrs will be happy, there is not much more upgrading you can do to your laptop that you have not already done hardware wise, she will have more cash for her shoes and handbags.

How are you going to cope with your addiction to the 'upgrading bug' now because with your desktop you can always constantly upgrade on hardware as you did, with your laptop your really limited?

Maybe you need a new fetish to spend all your cash on like stamp collecting instead? :-D

Thinking about it, we have just lost a Bit Tech upgrading legend who we all used to looked forward to reading about your next purchase and extreme benchies that came from your spurges, now you just another chum with a high spec laptop...a sad day indeed...

There are multi-screen laptops out there, but I'm surprised if he would actually go for it. With 7970M Gpus might be enough for a single screen at 1080, but a higher resolution could put too much strain on them.

    Yep, that's why I couldn't say no. :)

Haha, no, it really does run very cool considering the hardware. :)

Looking to get the 3920XM, so, it will be one of the fastest laptop on the market. :)

Why? I usually play CS or Dirt 3 on my old laptop. Now I can play BF3 online, via my tethering from my phone. :)

As for the upgrade bug, I can buy faster GPU's for it when they come out. :)

There's always things to buy. So no, bit-tech has lost me...:)

    Lol, well...:)

Wish I still had my 30" monitor to test the power of these 7970M's :)

BTW M11X arrived this morning. (A present to my missus!) :)

    M18X R2 next to M11X. :)

That does make it look absolutely giant. Just how heavy is it? Dump it on a set of scales and see what it comes up as.

It weighs 8KGs. Enough to leave imprints in my legs. :)
