Well, actually I didn't mention per se. I merely alluded to it. EDIT: And I see that now it's gone official in Europe as well. I wonder what took them so long.
Just picked up the Civ V game of the year edition for £7.49, im not sure what else to get, batman is very tempting though better to get both or just the first one?
Not quite the saving I was looking for on ARMA2: CO, I'll probably still grab it as it's about as cheap as it seems to get. Would have been nice to drop to about £10 though.
Unbelievable, but true, it's actually slightly cheaper in EUR as it's 14.99 EUR, which works out to about 11.50 GBP. I could get it for you if you want.
I surprised myself with how little I bought this sale. Frozen synapse Burnout Paradise 40k space marine
Sales over and this is what i've ended up with: 22 Jul 2012 5,62€ Purchase Star Wars: KOTOR, Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands, Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Tactical Pack DLC 20 Jul 20128,73€ Purchase Wings of Prey, Portal 2 18 Jul 2012 4,99€ Purchase Just Cause 2 17 Jul 2012 9,51€ Purchase Batman Arkham City 15 Jul 2012 3,24€ Purchase Trine 2 15 Jul 2012 4,99€ Purchase Left 4 Dead 2 14 Jul 2012 2,49€ Purchase Plants vs. Zombies 12 Jul 2012 7,49€ Purchase Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Standard Edition 12 Jul 2012 3,49€ Purchase Defense Grid: The Awakening and DLC 3 Games out of that lot I wish I hadn't bothered with: Star Wars: KOTOR = Had major problems getting it to run on win 7-64. Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands= I didn't realize Uplay DRM needed to be installed plus the game controls feel really clumsy + graphics settings can't be changed... not even the resolution ! Wings of Prey= Can't even get this to start up, have tried disabling anti Virus & firewall and other tricks steam advise. All the rest are great though, but I was always under the impression that steam only used there own DRM and any games purchased had been optimized to run on any machine that steam itself runs on.
Kotor ran fine on my machine, although I do have the original boxed 4CD game, so It's possible that was part of the solution. Just google around, if you like RPG's; Kotor is well worth the time it takes to get it running. Just don't buy KOTOR2, it's an awful letdown.
Yeah I read a few of the metacritic reviews and it sounded really good. I'm not a huge RGP fan but was enjoying hellgate london a few months ago so I though i'd give it a try. Apparently KOTOR not running on newer machines is a well known problem (I should have checked the forums before I got it) Anyway I'll keep looking for workarounds to get it going. I got the title screen up last night after about 30 mins of faffing around. In the end a CTRL,ALT,DEL got it to the title but I was sick of it at that point and just made some mental notes to try next time.
Seen this? http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1620666 There's definite mention of Windows 7 64-bit.
Thanks Tundra, should keep me busy for a good few months. And along with all the other steam stuff, I should be kept busy at least until 2013 !
