Trucks, tractors, van, cars, all do the same frequently enough. They can see farther than you can and think you can see fine and they pull in. It's daft as hell.

Generally speaking I'll only ever move in if I am actually inhibiting the flow of traffic (if I am pulling the trailer full of deer), but other than that I don't.

This guy couldn't see around the corner at all though, that's what utterly confused me, along with the slowing down to 30mph.

Aye, more often than not, it's done when they have feck all visibility and generally just "trying to be nice" or get you away from them. Shows how much attention they are actually paying to the road ahead of them.

One thing that drives me up the wall is truck drivers who move into the hard shoulder to let you pass.... through a junction. Thanks for the offer, but I'd rather wait for a designated overtaking lane or a straight section of road where you do not need to DRIVE THROUGH A JUNCTION! It baffles me that people think this is safe. Whenever this occurs, I drop back and flash my headlights and try to get them to move back into the main lane. Anyone who comes down a side road at the wrong time towards the junction is either going to plough into the side of HGV, or have it plough through them. Hopefully that will never happen.

Not amazing bargains... Went to the one in Bristol today; 10% off helmets, 20% off clothing and 30% off most other things. I wanted a new helmet so I wasn't blown away.

Victim of the shift to web - they were just showrooms for product to allow us lot to try product on, and then Google the best price.

There's talk of a supplier buying them, or a management buy out - can't see it myself - but it might be true if they're not doing stupid end of the world discounts today.

Shame to see them go, but in reality they were selling a commodity product in a multi-channel marketplace with (relatively) high operating costs.

Sooner or later, the high street is going to be a series of non-transactional manufacturers showrooms - the actual purchasing will be done online.

Shame really, their own brand gear was pretty good.

Worth noting that HG (the parent company) are fine, the only thing that has gone bust is the retail group that had the exclusive licence to HG stuff in the UK

That's good news. I tried looking up local stores, but on google maps the pin is on a small petrol garage. I'm not sure whether there are a few items tucked around the back of it or something, but I'm not getting someone to drive me 15 miles down the road to check. Shame, because I'm going to need some good but reasonably priced bike gear soon.

Popped in to local HG today (Stockwell). Staff there reckoned the worst that'll happen is the under-performing stores will close and everything will return to normal at the stores that pull their own weight.

"Slashed" prices were nothing special  10% off most things and 20% off stuff you'd never buy anyway

Riders and spectators are killed every year - I don't think there's been a year when someone hasn't been killed.

It's devastating when human life is lost - clearly - but the riders and the crowds come back year after year.

The risks are known and fully comprehended, the consequences are both unfathomable and inestimable - but it's a personal choice for every individual involved.

Ok, for the first time ever I actually have to fix something...

Need to fit a new rear rubber to a 2002 Kymco Cruiser 125.
