No doubt it's a great performing card, but it hit every branch on the way down ;)

Indeed....not a card you'd want to put in a case with a glass panel.

Yes, how dare AMD sneakily release their card 4 months before Nvidia does which gives AMD time to speed bin/respin their parts in order to release a mid-generation speed bump.
It just isn't fair how AMD keep releasing their new cards on or near schedule every year and Nvidia delays and delays and delays...
Someone should make a law or something regarding such uncompetitive practices from AMD.

I've bought palit cards for years,

I've always found them really reliable and good to work with out of the box if you treat them right, my GTX250 is 6 years old now, been overclocked and cleaned multiple times. Still works flawlessly.

I have the GTX670 version of this card and love it, only downside is it uses 2.5 slots, I had to sacrifice my sound card until I watercool it.

Yep, my last two cards were Palit ones. No complaints from me.

Had three so far, two had fan blade breakages, one replaced via e-buy, the other gained a Scythe slipstream... all worked fine, still have one of them.

    dunx

    P.S. That's not a pretty card, IMHO.

At least it doesn't have a red PCB like their other cards. I'd take the ugly cooler over another red card.

'lady graphics cards screamed and feinted as it walked by'
I always thought it was spelt 'fainted', although I may be wrong...
    Good article anyway.

Of more interest to me is the shiny new "5760x1080" category in resolutions. Are Bit actually testing with three screens now?

As others have said, not the most beautiful of graphics cards, but it has the performance, which is way more important to me (not that I'll be buying one). Whilst you have given a fair reason, I can't help but be disappointed by the removal of the Arma 2 benchmark, as it's about the only game I play and, as far as I know, Bit-Tech is the only site to benchmark it (apart from some other old benchmarks when it was first released). I would be happy to be proved wrong here.

What exactly has made Arma less reliable to benchmark with? Will you start using it again if it gets fixed? Also, do you forsee using Arma 3 (perhaps even the Alpha, which should be out soon :)) as a benchmark?

    Also, this passage:

Next up in our testing suite was Crysis 2. This is a new addition, and has replaced ARMA II as a recent update made ARMA much less reliable to benchmark with. The JetStream probably won’t thank us for the change however as it struggled to distinguish itself from the cheaper HD 7970 3GB...

isn't quite accurate - 'struggling to distinguish itself from' is much better than the 'totally destroyed by' it would have got if you still used Arma 2. Btw, anyone know why AMD cards perform *so* much better than nVidia cards in that game.

    Sorry I went on a bit :(

was torn between that one and the asus direct cu for the 670, went with the asus for its extremely quiet cooler.
Had a few palits before, they proved reliable, no complaints.
