Thought I'd make a thread about some of the weird/awesome gaming peripherals that you've found. Things like the Rat 7 being the mechanical monstrocity it is, or the ***** mouse from a few months back (or was it years?) But I came across this artcile on Ars Technica today about the new Madcats STRIKE 7 Keyboard OTT with a slice of awesome, really
Not new in any respect, but I was always a fan of the Optimus keyboard http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optimus_Maximus_keyboard Makes perfect sense for MMOs/RTS' except I'd say most people don't look at their keyboard while playing....
The recently unveiled retardation of the Razer Deathstalker Ultimate: http://www.razerzone.com/deathstalker Let's see: Replacing the numpad with a screen so that you can look down to see game stats.... yeah... makes sense. Also - now you have a Numpad APP, which doesn't offer tactile feedback, and therefore is unusable without looking. 10 finger anti-ghosting. GREAT, except that most gamers have one hand on the mouse... unless you're playing Zork. Facebook/twitter/forum trolling app.. .that says it all, really... this thing is made for 12-year olds that have never worked on a PC and urgently need an e-Peen inflation. also, it looks like this will cost 250USD. Makes the MadCats posted above seem like good value.
Hi, Its only a monstrosity if you do not understand its functionality. Every humans hand is different, in length/width of palm, finger length, thumb join distance from finger knuckles and angle. Having an adjustable system like the rat7's makes perfect sense as no one persons shares hand dimensions with another.
That is quite the waste of space. I've got a Logitech G510, and the only thing I use that screen for is the Mumble/Teamspeak overlay, simply so I can know who is joining/leaving/talking without having to switch windows in the middle of a game.
