I don't want to say they're common, but that type of thing was fairly common in the late 90s in the states at least.

I completely borked the stars shot but since the other stack turned out even worse this will have to do. I wish I had more time and access to pollution-free skies to practice these shots, they look so damned good if done right.

Tilt and shift lens or post-processed? Nice shot.

Yeah me either - huge price for a lens which has quite niche use. It's a shame - if there was a cheaper one, even if image quality wasn't great, it would make a fun novelty lens for experimentation.

Was there lots of wind there Silver?

The water ripples look fairly frozen-in-place but you have a shedload of cloud movement. Or is it two shots composited?

Single shots at 8 and 10 seconds respectively.

It was super-calm at ground level, but the clouds were racing across the sky. The land's only ten miles across (if that) here on the peninsular, which creates an interesting micro-climate.

Might have helped if I'd cleaned all the sea salt off the lens for the first one though. The lens flare isn't as clean as it should have been.

Edit: The waves in the first shot are caused by sand ripples, so they wouldn't be moving anywhere fast.
