What is this... a dream sequence? a preview of game? a preview of a cut scene? a paid promotion? an attempt to be 'arty'?

I hate what's left when you strip all the journalism away from journalism.

Joe, nice preview, but did you enjoy the game? I...can't tell.

If you've seen game walkthroughs, you'll understand that these "lives" represent attempts at a game level. Litteraly, the writing style is chosen to show how easy it is to get warped into the game reality, show how captivating the story and gameplay is.

It's quite clearly a preview of the many ways you can attempt a single level of dishonored.

I'm disappointed in you though Joe: why'd you feel the need to kill the guards anyway? Garrett would be most unimpressed.

Yeah, I understand - and I'm usually not a fan of this sort of 'new games journalism' either. On the other hand, I've written about Dishonored and my thoughts on it in other ways before and wanted to try something different. I also wanted to answer the people who ask 'How flexible is the game?'

    There's always the other previews:

Sounds like it might be quite fun, looking forward to hearing a bit more about this in another month!

You should be on commission or something. ;)

Seriously though, the game sounds like it is going to be GOTY. Can't wait.

What sort of hardware are we going to need to max it out? I see multi platform - is that likely to be DX9? Similar to Skyrim. Shots look good, but you know what we're all like. Moar candy!

Weird, the main character's last name sounds/spelt similar to my first name. Just need to change the last letter to a 'u'

It certainly looks like tweaked Gamebryo engine to me. I'd be surprised if its at all difficult to run. As I understand it the world isnt even that open so I would imagine it'll run better than skyrim in most cases.

Can't wait for release though, this will probably be my first break from GW2

Good point. Yes... the lack of a huge world will be a wait off.

I need to update my 460gtx at some point but have been pretty happy with its performance in Skyrim, so it may not be necessary.

The texturing seems a little low res in some of the screenshots, the first one in particular looks a little blurry to me.
